New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Ventured down the Upper East stand during half time at the Spurs game.

First time I've bothered, all the previous games just stayed down the South side. Proper depressing on the East sidešŸ˜‚, like an empty underground car park, nowhere for people to rest food/drink, just a big empty space.

Think the club could make better use of the space, or even an outdoor area to overlook the plaza and some views across the city. No ques for toilets though, alot of fans still dont seem to realise theres more to the stadium than that east/south corner, always chockeršŸ˜‚

Beto approved goalposts are in.

Window has been fixed at last.

We all marvelled at the clubs crests going up in the 4 corners of the ground.
Now they are totally insignificant in size & visibility compared to the sponsors names on the stadium.

Now I love everything about our new home and accept sponsorship is a much needed accompaniment , but not to overshadow our clubs identity.

I think its about time fans voiced their opinion and let the club know this is not acceptable.

If you get a chance to go on the western terrace then they seem quite large!

Completey agree, all you see is the ambulance chaser's name everywhere. At least at the main entrance it should say Everton Football Club in massive letters

I personally don’t think the stadium carries sound well because of how large it is

The only way the sound carries is if everyone is in unison which is why you will hear most of the noise being made at the start of the game or during key moments in the game like scoring a goal or when a ref makes a bad decision etc…

You have isolated incidents of fans trying to sing the Jordan Pickford song which fizzles out pretty quickly after 1 verse because the sound just doesn’t carry

I think you will probably only hear a constant noise for maybe one game like Liverpool

However I don’t necessarily think that it makes the atmosphere worse than goodison. Even at goodison the crowd was still quiet and the away fans would chant nearly every game ā€œis this a libraryā€ and ā€œwe forgot that you were hereā€ so don’t make out that goodison was a noise fortress

Goodison was loud for the big games and the big moments

Hill Dicky will be loud for the big games and the big moments like brighton and palace for example
Due to the size of HD, I do think the acoustics are quite different to GP and will take a bit of getting used to. There is a lot more reverberation and this can make it difficult for everyone to sing in unison once a chant gets going. As a result, songs sometimes trail off quite quickly. But I think this is partly a question of people getting used to the bigger space and getting more confident to sing despite the reverb. There was sustained singing across all four stands during the second half against Palace.

not much better in west stand, really nice decor , 4 pubs plenty screens, but unless you get there first, you pay £3.500, to stand drinking and eating your food off the top of a wheely bin, just buy a couple of hundred stools, loads of room for them.
