I was bringing his name into it to adhere to that you cannot support a person who has done prison time for an assault and refuse to potentially support a person who was cleared of everything. One, the evidence was on the pitch, the second as you said was audio of it. Who is the one with a criminal record answer me that?

But as a club the vast majority think that signing him would be a horrible decision. He was shown to be an odious individual.. Having him here would be an insult to our fan base especially to our female supporters.

Get a grip. It wasn’t a suggestion of us actually going to sign him, it was more a, I wouldn’t have a problem with us signing him. If you have please leave the forum, or earth, or both.

Not really the thread for it but it's important (in fact, I would say imperative) to note that Greenwood was absolutely not 'cleared of everything'. The CPS effectively dropped the case because the victim refused to testify because she'd got back together with him (after he'd breached his bail conditions by contacting her). The difference that makes to what you're saying is absolutely enormous, he isn't an innocent man who was wrongly accused, he's blatantly guilty and everybody knows it.

For lots of jobs you have a DBS done or should we just scrap that because their crime was in the past? And whilst football is different in that it’s not direct facing with vulnerable people for example, they still have roles working with children and doing publicity and then being idolised by children. There’s a message it sends.

As I’ve said previously, having charges dropped doesn’t equal being found innocent and in my view, I wouldn’t want the club to even consider him.

Doesn't that make the whole thing trickier though? I mean, she got back with him, they have a kid and they even live together in France. You have to bear in mind their backgrounds and how everything developed, especially since. Not that I advocate signing him, but both of them have moved on and its hard to draw conclusions from selected videos on social media.

In fact, they have just had a second kid. Maybe the whole thing got rather blown out of proportion?

Erm, no. Maybe go back and listen to the evidence. It’s irrelevant what’s happened since and doesn’t change what happened.
