Though there have been players linked to champions league sides season after season and either bids werent made or deals didnt go through.

At this point, I think Moyes will be demanding "big money" is spent on a CF. In his first spell he spent what we considered big money on Beattie, Yakubu and Johnson.

I could see Beto being sold and a lot spent on a centre forward.

Agree this is what we need to do. Striker market is just mad, can't see us signing what we need for anything less than big money.

That being said that Kroupi at Bournemouth doesn't look half bad. 12m they paid for him.

i would be wanting a 'project striker' but right now I'd take someone like Toney or Richarlison to make an instant impact.

I still have hopes for Evan Ferguson, but he's yet to score for Roma despite the manager preferring him to the highly rated Dobvyk

I also imagine Liam Delap (we would have a good few more points on the board if we had managed to convince him to sign) will be available either on loan or to buy next summer

We're just about mid table for chances created. But way below for converted.
I dont think we're brilliant but even a half decent centre forward hitting the net now and then would help.
Beto has 1 goal. Barry hasnt even had a shot on target yet.
There isnt any way of skirting around it. We dont buy well.

Even the centre forwards starting for average sides would be a big upgrade on what we have now - Danny Welbeck, Igor Thiago, Wilson Isidor, Lyle Foster etc. we don't need some top Europa/CL level player, just someone competent with a bit of a track record even from outside the top 5 leagues where there is definitely talent to be found
