Match Thread Everton 0-3 Spurs . Sun Oct 26th. 4.30

I love Jack but let's be fair once he is up against two or three he has to stop going forward as he has no pace ,then Ndiaye feels the need to beat everyone so that stops us followed by having no potency in the middle and we are predicable .I know what we need is a tactician who can change a game early when the way we shaping up isn't working not a team of ditherers who only make changes to chase the game .We have all seen the first loss at HDS coming the shock is it wasn't earlier . I am not having a go at Illi or Jack just the management .
The most natural No 10 is Alcarez. Just play the lad

We need some drive through the middle. Idrissa was also rubbish along with Dewsbury Hall tonight. Moyes needs to make big changes...but he will not.
With Gana, if he isn't winning the ball and squeezing the opposition there is literally no point him being there because he's very poor in possession. Second half we actually pressed as a team and stopped them having possession for long periods.

What years mate?

And it’s got absolutely nothing to do with who wins the league - I’m on about the strength of the league. The teams in 6th/8th/12th, whatever. The quality runs FAR deeper than it used to.
I think this is true. There genuinely aren't any easy games home or away anymore. Every team has some good players and a game plan.

We played OK today but we're toothless. There's a distinct lack of movement in the final 3rd. Their keeper had to deal with almost exactly the same corners as ours did. He dealt with them comfortably, ours didn't. Now before I get pelters saying I'm a Pickford basher, it wasn't all down to him. Also, we had a goal ruled out and on another day they could have had a goal ruled out and we had a stonewall penalty not given, the challenge on Gana was similar to the one Shumacher did on the French guy, he cleaned him out yet VAR hardly battered an eye lid, yet the ref was giving silly little pushes as fouls everywhere else on the pitch. It makes my blood boil. Having had that rant, it's still isn't good enough and that result was coming. We got lucky against Wolves who are crap, we couldn't beat WHam, who are crap and we got super lucky against Palace. If we don't start picking up points soon, Moyes will be looking for a new job, cause these guys don't mess about.

Just got back from the game. What exactly was the tactic today? (Or any other match for the last decade?!?) Just keep knocking it out to the wings and then a half arsed cross to no one. We haven’t been effective in the air since the days of Baines knocking it into Cahill.

That match should be watched on repeat by the owners until the 1st of January - they can stop watching it once they’ve brought in some players that have the inclination to get a shot off. And some fullbacks.

I am struggling to see how we finish in the top 10 at the moment. I don't see this team scoring too many goals.
Unless we spend a lot of money in Jan, I don’t think top half is on the cards. We’ve got no striker, no fullbacks and our best CB has just had his leg amputated. Lower mid table is probably the best we can hope for with the current squad.

Pick any year from 2008 onwards to about 2023 and the best teams then are way better than the teams now. Take the current league leaders who were laughably described as imperious after scraping a 1-0 win yesterday, they rely on set piece goals and can't hold a candle to any Arsenal team in the Wenger years.

Look at today's game which Tottenham won 3-0 to go into third.

Do you think they played us off the park with a scintillating display of free flowing football or demonstrate they are a top 4 team with an assortment of high quality attacking players?

No, they scored two goals from corners and benefited from an appalling display from a biased and unfair official who clearly has a problem with Everton.

The quality of football served up in the premier league is woeful, week after week by practically every team in it.
