Match Thread Everton 0-3 Spurs . Sun Oct 26th. 4.30

It ain't a strong league mate, Sunderland are 4th.

It’s absolutely a strong league mate. 5 of them are top 10 in the Champions league table, and there are good sides other than those - Spurs, Villa, United, Palace, Bournemouth..

Even Forest have a really good squad and they are 18th.

Sunderland made some cracking signings, but have benefited from 3 last minute winners, no doubt they will drop into mid table by Christmas.

I just find it such a mad take when people think the Prem isn’t strong. What are you comparing it to?

We had a better xg than spurs from open play so we were the better team from open play factually

Spurs had a better xg than us from set play so spurs were the better team at set pieces factually

Set piece fc won the game for spurs
Yeah, all true, but all the stats in the world don’t matter if the result doesn’t go your way.

We are still moving In the right direction - which needs mentioning because many of our fans still can’t accept how truly bad we’ve been in recent years and think we should be top of the league already - but it still hurts when you lose three nil at home to a team (and a club) that is little more than a polished turd.

We've had over 30 years of patience - and 13 with this fella.

Patience was never in short supply around here. And a fat lot of good did it do.

Until the fellas running the club make savvy appointments, show real ambition, and demand a complete cultural overhaul, we will still be calling for patience in five years time.
I am not willing to show patience. Either we progress this season or I want a completely new plan and different people in charge.

It's not even that difficult to make this club better. Everything is there to improve it. We just need sensible recruitment and a bit of urgency.

Yet, we have people calling for "stability" like the status quo, riddled by Kenwrightism, is a safe staging post.

We're the most inert club in the Premier League. In every way. It's a wonder we ever moved stadium.

See, I want to see it that way, too. I really do. I also want to say Sunderland has a false record. That’s how we talk when we’re the ones at the bottom. Sunderland is having a purple patch. Could it be they’re playing better than us and recruited better?

Was it corruption that disallowed our goal or were we offsides? Were Spurs lucky on a couple of set pieces or were they better than us and converted against us? Was Gana really fouled that hard or did he flop and we got pissed because we were desperate for something to go our way?

We weren’t unlucky today. We were the worse team by a good bit. We have no real firepower up front. Our strategies are predictable. Spurs played much better than us and they converted on nearly all their chances.

Continually losing makes us want to grab at reasons we lost beyond what it really was - we were a poor side today and teams know how to defend us. Triple up on Ndiaye or Grealish. Expect a hoof ball to Beto. That’s all there is to game plan against us. We’re bang average.
We need some drive through the middle. Idrissa was also rubbish along with Dewsbury Hall tonight. Moyes needs to make big changes...but he will not.

I dont want to see obrien at right back again, hes been getting bummed all saeson, its nit working at all. Until we get a right back id sooner see garner there and rohl in the middle. Beto, or Neto should be sent packing. Id like to see ndayie played up top and dibling out right. KDH stank the place out for an hour today. I believe alcaraz gives us more gusto. Fuming

Why not try him deeper in midfield i kno not best game but atleast him and another instead of garner and gana gibes us more attackibg balance
Yeah I agree, drop him deeper and Alcaraz more advanced after HT, as I say he came on V Palace and changed game, Tim came on later and his energy and drive helped change game also , today Alcaraz 85min and Tim not at all , as for Dibbling ?

A sizeable proportion of the South stand booing the players taking the knee. Get in the bin you absolute scum.

Ref crap, spurs set pieces good, our forwards and fullbacks crap. Dismal way to lose the unbeaten record. Sunderland may run over us the way they're counter attacking.

Yeah just strange for me esp at jan what is moyes going to do for the rm postion. Is dibbling going to get a chance when you could put him in off the bench in games now. Had options today moyes could have dropped kdh for alcaraz in the 10, ndiaye could have even beem played as a two uptop and dibbling on the right. Moyes has to take some blame today slow and poor subs

You only need to compare it to years gone by as the strength is nowhere near what it was.

So many teams are just boring, dull functional, and well drilled who really on set piece goals and have no creativity or skill.

The money spent on the premier league is greater than it has ever been but the overall quality is down from years ago you only need to look at last year's champions.

But they won’t be doing much counter attacking against us, that’s for sure 😞

(mind you, having to dictate a game won’t suit them so that might work in our favour)
