2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

Feel sorry for the bloke. Whenever he plays in his favourite central role, he nearly always produces something. Goal, assist, or even energy and chances. Came on second half against Palace and turned the game on its head. Since then, shifted wide again and then benched.

It’s clear the manager doesn’t really fancy him which is baffling. It was such a simple deal to complete when we already had an agreement in place in the summer but we dragged our heels, and then when we did complete it, gave him a two year deal which is unheard of. Something was clearly off there and he’s simply not going to get many minutes in his most productive role.

How Moyes sees KDH as a better player there is baffling.

As much as I don't want to wish injury on anyone (especially a brilliant servant like Tarks) I do feel if he was missing for a few games we'd see J O'B slide across to RCB, Garner go to RB and that would possibly open chance for Alcaraz unless Moyes absolutely dosen't want to play KDH as an 8.

Could be the sort of moment that changes the season as things are cooling off again from the high of August.

Thing is, though, it shouldn’t come to that. A good manager should be seeing what the every day fan sees. Tarkowski needs a break. Sometimes managers are too close personally. You need a little bit of a-hole in you like Pep or Arteta. It’s actually not even a tough call to make. Keeping the same line up is hurting us. Bench Tarks. Move JOB over. Drop back Garner. It should literally be that easy. Moyes needs to grab his cajones and do what’s right for the team and not stick with stale lineups out of some misplaced loyalty.

I think Moyes just rates Tarks leadership and his organisation. Does feel like something is coming though. First half Muani turned him sharply, he blocked it for a corner and then felt his lower back before soldering on.

Currently the 3 CBs fit and available are going to start every single game for next three months and that is just unrealistic to think they can get through with knocks.

I've said it few times now but what was point in buying him.

I really like the lad but if he's going to be used like this we should've spent the dough on a full back or put towards a better striker.

He'll wreck the lad's confidence treating him like this - out of position, dropped for someone's who not playing well.

Out of all the money spent this Summer, the £10m spent on Alcaraz is not what should be questioned.

Or suspensions...one of them could well possibly get a red card in the next 3 months or too many yellows...for me it is a failure from the recruitement team not having bought an extra cb if a rb was not possible.
