Remembering Bill Kenwright

I thought about my reply to this.

I read so many comments which re-write history on this cancer.

So i used search and found my answer... from me. 4 years ago.

Can't stand the fella.

Overseen as Chairman

1. The Longest barren spell for trophies in our entire history
Set a precedent of "little old Everton"

2. Let his own ego get in the way of multiple dealings such as Kings Dock, Sheikh Mansour

3. Lied about the state of Goodison in order to try to scaremonger fans into "Project Kirkby"

4. Sold off every asset of the club including the training ground, catering facilities and merchandise rights

5. Sold the club to the only person who'd keep him on the board
Built up a boys club, where we're run by "nice" people instead of driven people, where figures from the barren spell such as Unsworth, Ferguson, Jeffers (ffs!) are given jobs. That mentality breeds.

6. Fortress Money, Planet Hollywood scandals

7.Nearly getting us in administration, and crying in the press about "his boy" Rooney

22 years, and we've regressed, been lied to and basically turned into a laughing stock. The reality is that David Moyes, and not Blue Bill, kept the club afloat, and if it weren't for Moyes, we'd have probably been languishing in the lower leagues now.

He's a parasite on the club, and whilst I'm sure he's a nice enough fella behind the scenes, needs to realise that Everton Football Club is more than a train set to fans like ourselves, it's our passion. He needs to go so Moshiri can actually get his affairs in order and appoint business who can actual run a football club.

Since then, Bill has paaaed away, and i wish sincere rrgards to his family. But a man responsonle for our languish gets F all from me.

Its why Moyes in 2025 is good enough? Its why 99% of us turn down a CL Run, for Europa Conference?

I Am 33 years of age and for the first time, i feel relaxed and upbeat. I trust TFG, bill? Well... i cant use curse words, so thabk lord hes no lobger associated.

Ironically, the "Good Times" are coming, but not by a fluke.
Great post this. Brilliantly summed up.

He’s a decisive figure, but I always believed that he wanted the best for the club.

I think he was manipulated by some very bad people and he was a victim of unfortunate circumstances.

I’m sad he didn’t see the stadium finished, I know he was integral in its development. If the Ukraine war didn’t happen, if a more professional investor had worked with him or if we had got Kings Dock

IF…

He loved the club
Ask yourself the question "why didn't we get the King's Dock" and then re-evaluate if you think he "wanted the best for the club" or wanted the best for Bill Kenwright.

“He loved the club”

So what? I do and many of you do , it doesn’t mean we would make good custodians.

It says a lot that it seems to be more about personal interactions with him than what transpired with the club itself.

What happened in that January was a disgrace and it says a lot a number of people chose silence . He was out of order and you all know he was as well. And that is just one of numerous things that negatively impacted the club whilst he was here. And you didn’t have the guts to call him out on his antics because it would selfishly impact personally or professionally.

The relationship between local and national media, dodgy and disingenuous as well and I suspect that remains the case today.

And i am sure Donald loves his country.

Love of something doesn't translate to good leadership, in summary of what you have said.
