Remembering Bill Kenwright

Yep, life is too short to hold grudges.
Not the best chairman but his charitable work was something.

I don’t want to use a child’s death in any argument but he did the Bradley Lowery foundation proud.

No more replies from me in this thread.

But also would've seen us playing in a strip mall parking lot if he'd had his way, before shacking up with a more well-heeled shyster...let's not get it twisted.

Revisionism also serves no purpose and is at least as misplaced as any perceived disrespect for the our late chairman, who presided over easily the longest barren spell in the club's history, a period that nearly saw catastrophic failure and included the Kings Dock farce, the Kirkby debacle and the managed decline of our club from prime-movers in the formation premier league, to absolute makeweights. RIP

Just going to leave this here...

As seen from South London - without doubt.
We played Palace in the game after he'd died, and they had his seat at their ground with an Everton scarf on it in memoriam. I noted it at the time that it was a very nice and respectful gesture on their part. There's a few reasons to like Palace, and that's one of them.

Palace play later today, I hope they do well.

As for Bill, I believe the size of the job became to much for him, I've no doubt he meant well, and there's not many boyhood fans that live the dream and end up owning their beloved club, he built himself up through the world of thespianism and theatre, that was part of his charm and it also rubbed a few up the wrong way with his endless luvvie mannerisms.
Considering it feels like yesterday, how two years have passed is quite frightening. It's a shame he never got to see a ball kicked at BMD as well.

He’s gone so RIP.
I refuse to hold on to any ill will over his tenure here, however i fear this thread is only going one way.

I think enough time has passed where we can stop lingering on the past, and his tenure here.

So, instead of focusing on his time spent at our club, let's rather remember the bright-eyed young lad, who had no aspirations on being a football club owner, but rather on being a talented actor, and most notably, his time spent on Coronation Street.

RIP, I suppose. He was quite the looker back in his day? 😜
