He’s miles better than BetoIs Ivan Toney actually any good?
Gah. I’ll take Richy on loan then.
You probably read it differently than I wrote it..That's because he is no longer the Chairman
Just think if was looking for a loan back to the prem would be motivated to get in the england team. Just problem is the wages so the cost of the loanIs Ivan Toney actually any good?
He is pretty heavily linked with Spurs, tbh I reckon he would want to go back to a London club.Just think if was looking for a loan back to the prem would be motivated to get in the england team. Just problem is the wages so the cost of the loan
Well he scored 36 goals in 83 games across the 3 seasons he played in the Prem for Brentford which is not far off a 1-in-2 strike rate and makes him far and away better than any striker we've had since Lukaku. Is Ivan Toney actually any good?
Most people in the phone book are better than Beto. Hardly a high bar. He’s miles better than Beto
Some of our fans actually think Beto is quite good. I remember loads of shouts in the summer that he will get 12 to 15 goals this seasonMost people in the phone book are better than Beto. Hardly a high bar.
His talent as a footballer is extremely poor, in many aspects and ways. How he made it as a professional in Serie A and the Prem is beyond me, but he "works hard" (or "runs around a lot" depending on your preference), clearly cares, clearly wants to do well and is therefore easy to like because of his effort. Some of our fans actually think Beto is quite good. Pretty sure you have to fulfil the entire length of your contract to get the full salary tax-free (or essentially sign a secondary contract), which is why I would be surprised if Toney jumps ship like Jordan Henderson did part-way through his deal.I remember reading that the players who go to Saudi need to stay there for a certain length of time to ensure their wages are tax free. How long has Toney been there? It’s quite a good market to shop from as the early players to go out there are coming out of contract next summer and surely fancy playing at a better level whilst they still can, having made their fortunes. I would love to sign Reuben Neves on a pre-contract in a few months. He’s still a very good player and would add a lot to our midfield as a 6.
The last bit is definitely not true, but crack onPretty sure you have to fulfil the entire length of your contract to get the full salary tax-free (or essentially sign a secondary contract), which is why I would be surprised if Toney jumps ship like Jordan Henderson did part-way through his deal.
As for Neves, a proven top class midfielder, if he were to become availble, we'd be at the very back of the queue for about 30 clubs who are far and away a much better proposition in every way shape and form than this outfit.
He’s played over 70 games , probably started 40 and had a 5/6 game purple patch. It’s Massive odds against he has another oneBeto - Summary
Pro's -
He try's hard
he gives hope to millions of young kids that anyone can make it.
Cons -
You wouldn't pick him for your school team..
You certainly wouldn't pick him for your Saturday/Sunday league team.
If you were seriously short on numbers for a friendly 6 aside game with your mates, you'd stick him in goal.
Natural ability - 0
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that is Beto..
If he was wearing any other shirt, everyone would say the same.
But he is ours, he does put the effort in, so we have to back him..
Hopefully Saturday is the start of a purple patch for him..
