2025/26 David Moyes

People moaning despite the first eleven not even making the pitch so far this season is ridiculous. The team has done very well despite Branthwaite not even making an appearance yet.

His record at those clubs is staggeringly poor. It would never be "good" - the disparity in resources precludes that - but the law of averages suggests he should be able to fluke the odd win. Instead, he laughs and jokes with Haaland and settles for the predictably plucky 2-0 reverse.
Does the "law of averages" suggest Frank Bruno would get the odd win vs. Muhammad Ali if they each fought 40 times?

And a pro-Moyes faction who praise him for the wins and absolve him of any responsibility for any defeats.
Do they? Let's look at who we've lost to?

City and Liverpool. Hmmm yes I would expect us to lose most times against them. Do we usually beat them?

Wolves in the cup was bad and he got pelters for it. Everyone was fuming with his team selection and the performance.

Leeds was down to a dodgy handball decision. You can't really blame Moyes for that unless you have a massive agenda.

But in hindsight you must admit it was great appointment? You'd have to be mentally deficient to argue otherwise.
Wow, pretty insulting mate. I don't think it was a great appointment. I think it was backward looking and completely uninspiring. Any half decent manager would've kept us up last season. Then we could've built on that in the summer. Instead the owners have let him dictate his return and as a result we've binned off the DOF role and put him in charge of pretty much everything. He ain't going to win a trophy, we're going to play some fairly uninspiring footy while he's here and we'll have wasted money and time employing him.

Frank wouldn't lay a glove on Muhammad Ali. Let's be serious now.

Same as Buster Douglas had no chance v Tyson or Rahman had no chance v Lewis.

Getting back on subject - I like Moyes but he has an undeniably appalling record at the big grounds. Any other Prem club you care to name has scraped a win away at the ‘big six’ at some point in the recent past
