ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I've argued this for years on here that RS success in recent years has been down to luck, VAR, possible doping and teams rolling over for them. Not them being terrific. Premier League has been incredibly poor in recent years, which is why we managed to stay up and RS have done so well. VVD wouldn't of survived in days of Shearer, Rooney, Henry, Tevez, even players like Yakubu and Cahill. RS have benefited from fact that teams including us, haven't had a proper striker, which most teams including us had in past. Maupay missed a sitter against them, that most strikers in past would of scored to win game. Teams have tried to adopt Guardiolas tactics rather, than playing to their strengths, Southampton could of easily drew against RS if they weren't trying to be Man City. VVD never played against Rooneys, Berbatov, Bergkamp, Shearer, Lukakus, of the world. RS constantly give away chances, it's just other teams in past have missed these chances. I think now people know they aren't that great and will go at them. Hopefully Frankfurt destroy them next.
Ollie Watkins turned him inside out when Villa beat them 7-2 was it?
Half fit DCL dominated him in one of the derbies, to the poit "Virg" wouldnt go near him.
Beto ran him ragged in 2 of the recent derbies too.

Im sorry, but no world class CB would have these on their CV. The biggest myth in football is VVD.

I’m struggling to enjoy their recent dip as much as I should due to our pathetic showing at Anfield in the 1st half. They haven’t played well all season, even in the games they’ve won, yet in classic Moyes fashion we went to Anfield petrified and by the time we realised on the day that there’s something not right with them we’d given ourselves too much to do.

For all of Moyes’ good traits, he will never win at Anfield in his life, which for an Everton manger isn’t exactly something you want.

Agreed. So frustrating. They were there for the taking
