2025/26 David Moyes

I don’t think that’s true. Moyes in his first stint would start slowly then whether through design or accident would end up with a team that clicked. Playing Cahill or Fellaini as false nines for example.

You can’t help but think having Garner at RB, maybe even JB at left back would give the back line more forward thrust and athleticism to support the whole team.

Alcaraz as false 9 is intriguing. Eager to see more of Rohl too.
Because if you make massive sweeping changes you cannot judge properly what is happening as you are switching so many variables at once.

we have improved ffs

and also we’ve had ONE WINDOW
As I said yes we have improved but considering the money spent its not as much of an improvement as you think, we finished in 13th place last season and
Moyes has bought very poorly in the ONE WINDOW he has had. And there is no need for the ffs its only my and yours opinions.

What Angus was saying is that Moyes was up all nights watching videos of players that were put to him, so yes he did have the final say, but it was out of a pool of players put to him, not vice versa. He possibly chose a couple but it certainly wasn't structured the way it previously was with him.

Also listening to Angus, its only going to change more to the route of say Brighton, Bournemouth and those sort of teams, Angus put it to the friedkins about working with a certain 'Data, Analytics firm' and they didn't only just say yes, they went and bought the whole company.

The way it looks is the future we will be looking for a coach who works with the tools given, rather then a manager who wants his own tools..

Tho thats only how it sounds, I haven't actually got a clue what's going to happen..
Sounds very much like the recruitment system Moyes actually implemented when he was there last time though. He wasn’t just pulling names out of a hat, but there was a lot of data analysis, lots of scouting and player reports and ultimately they would collaborate on picking targets.

ha ha ok mate - we’ve not spent a lot

we still need to spend for a striker
and fullbacks

Pure hyperbole, in terms of regular first team players we lost DCL, Doucoure, Young, plus a couple of back up goalies and Holgate/Maupay who hadn’t been near team/squad for a couple of years. We then chose to sell Chermiti. You can’t count loans FFS because zero stopping us from getting an equivalent number of loans in if we wanted too.

It was actually 13 outs and 9 Ins.

People keep saying he spent 100m, but he still had to get in 9 players.

Lets not forget that Liverpool spent over 100m on 2 different players and you kinda realise that 100m is actual pennies.

And as for "you cant count loans", says who, you?

If you wanna dismiss these numbers cos it doesnt fit your agenda, then fine, but I can include what the hell I want blud.

superb post

So you think spending north of 50m is not much money for people like Dibbling and Barry, well I bow to your superior knowledge.
Dibbers is the big 1, the majority of our budget was spent on him and hes being kept out the side by Indy and Young Jack who are currently, IMO, 2 of the best players in the league.

If we can't secure Jack or someone turns Ndiayes head with an 80 mill bid, we can bring the dibinator in and spend elsewhere. Its frustrating now, but clearly a signing looking forward

We invested in yoot.

Yoot takes time to show the fruits.

Its harsh on Dibbers, but hes not sitting on the bench behind Jack Harrison, hes gonna have to wait and not to write him off, he never really took his chance when given, granted in a proper plop side. Same with Charly, hes started a few games now and hasnt really looked as good as he does coming off the bench. Think this Moyes fella just might know his footy better than morons, like me, who post on a footy forum.

I respect the play, moyes can't help himself. He is a build foundations and future man even if that means he catches a bit of flame in the short term.

I do think he needs to show more faith in charles, but I'm impatient

Its about agendas with Moyes.

It was always going to happen, hes a new manager, but hes clearly not new, he has his faults, but personally if any other fella would have come in and got the results he has after Thatchers fella we would be erecting a statue.

People fuming cos we lose away at Liverpool and City, cool, cool, cool.

Its Moyes team right now and I'm grateful for him, the very definition of safe hands in our case. He also looks delighted to be back which is pretty nice

Edited the squad list to reflect the reality. We're thinner than one might think. I'll freely admit some of the above is extrapolated from the views on these here pages.
