Didn't disgrace ourselves against a very good outfit. Better teams than us will go there this year and get beat as badly or worse.

Ultimately the possession they had told, and the work we had to put in off the ball for the first 60 mins tired us. Easy to say that Moyes should have taken off a few in advance of their goal (you could see Ndiyae struggling) but that's captain hindsight for you. What annoyed me more is that we gave up in the last ten mins when a goal could have made it interesting... And we nearly conceded three more and made it embarrassing

But for 60 mins we looked good I thought. Had the right game plan and executed well. Bit of luck goes our way/better finishing and maybe we nick a goal to give us something to hold on to.

Keane ball watching for the goals again. He had been doing well against Haaland but those lapses of concentration. After the goals Keane seemed to push further forward and left Haaland to Tarkowski which did not work well. Pickford saved our pride, but N'Diaye was spectacular.
I've been a vocal critic of Keane but can acknowledge that he's improved this season.

Him and Tarks just don't work as a pairing though unfortunately. They both like to push up ahead of the defensive line to challenge for headers, which to be fair so does Branthwaite.

When Branthwaite and Tarkowski play together they seem to just have a much better understanding of how to cover each other though.

Don't know if its poor communication or lack of chemistry but when it's Keane and Tarkowski massive gaps seem to open up consistently.

This is a club that signed Maupay when they needed goal scorers even back then.

It was getting to a point where I felt our recruitment teams were sabotages and anyone who turned out decent was a fluke.
Some of our striker signings have been awful over the years but it does seem like these days Chelsea and the like hoover up nearly all of the decent talent, bench them or send them on loan to CL teams abroad. Tough gig.

This is where astute people come in, identify a solution and are willing to take a chance. We make too many “that will do ” signings over the years and fans then argue over if they are decent or not.

The Broja signing was a disgrace

We need to be getting in there early on some foreign talent I think. Agree Broja was an insanely terrible signing although we were absolutely desperate.
