I haven't taken much interest in this story because, frankly, I am not that interested, but from what I heard the "offence" took place in New York and the age of consent there is 17 isn't it? I assume someone who knows about these things can check.

The UK has sex tourism laws. If he did anything sexual with anyone under the age of UK consent, regardless if it was legal in that territory or in 'international airspace' ha can still be theoretically prosecuted over here for it.

I'm an ex-RN Officer. When I was at Dartmouth, my Senior Divisional Officer was, IIRC, Lieutenant Commander Pirie. Absolute cockwomble of a man. Probably took exception to me because of my scouse accent. After I had been there a few days he did an inspection of our cabins (basically our rooms) and said that he wasn't happy with my attire despite that it was all bought to go to Dartmouth. At the same time he was stood in front of me wearing an outfit that a young Tory farmer would wear. Cockwomble!

Anyway, his best mate (from his Dartmouth days) was Andrew and he used to invite him to our Divisional events. I hope the cockwomble is absolutely embarrassed about his association with the monster.
