January Transfer Window 2026

I understand Barry has to reach a moment where he is able to demonstrate his skills or the opportunities will eventually dissipate , I also feel his teammates to find ways to incorporate him in attack. There's times even with Beto they haven't looked like they are considering providing them a solid chance at goal
It comes down to players trust in their teammates, thats why you see alot of Grealish, KDH and Garner syncing together. You bring Alcaraz into the fold and he wont play to that gameplan, he will instinctively look for the quickest attacking pass, not just a certain player..

Barry/Beto find the spaces, Alcaraz will feed them..

12 games or so until the window opens.
I think Beto and Barry need to pull their fingers out to prove themselves.

I think in Barry’s case he needs to start showing a glimpse of something. I still hope a goal will completely change his mindset confidence wise.
Get on the blower and beg Villarreal to take him back at a reduced fee tbh.

Think you'll be waiting a long time for Barry to 'demonstrate' his skills. The guy has'nt got ANY!

None? Wow, I wonder he managed to become a professional footballer over tens of thousands of other hopefuls and manage to score double figures in la liga last season if he hasn't got ANY skills.
A lot of people seem to think players popped into existence the day they signed for Everton and are then extremely confused when you judge them more on their thousands of previous minutes than their ~200 in a new league on a new team.

To be fair, can we not all agree 11 goals in La Liga is just not that good. Like how did he even enter our radar when looking for a goalscorer?
For the minutes he played, he was in the top 25% of goalscorers among strikers in his first season in a top league age 22. There's no world where that's 'not that good'.

I mean it just isn’t good. Stop trying to peddle this fallacy you watch Villarreal and that he’s good.

So far he’s not remotely looked like any part of his game is decent.

France made the semi's of the u21s this past summer, and Barry played his part in that. They were soundly beaten by Germany (who had also beaten eventual winners England in the group stages). We were all waxing lyrical I suspect when so many of our players were involved winning (checks notes) the u20 world cup back in 2017

If we can get 20 league goals out of the combined efforts of both our strikers then MF will mop up the rest.

I watched the U21 tournament and he was bang average in that too.

@maccavennie can back me up that I’m not just going early on this one.

It literally is good. What is your definition of good if not being one of the best goalscorers at a young age in your first season at the top?

I don't think anyone on here 'watched villareal'. But you know all matches are just available to go back and look at on the internet if you want to actually figure out how a player plays for yourself.
