I think it's safe to say any of us could get England to qualify as winners of a group consisting of Serbia, Albania, Latvia and Andorra. It's literally a waste of time going through the motions of qualifying - look at it, 5 wins from 5 without a goal conceded. I understand UEFA/FIFA want the biggest countries playing in the World Cup, but surely they should make it at least a bit challenging for the bigger teams to make it through.

Fair to say Wales' day has been and gone now. Those heady days of European quarter finals are but a distant memory, as are players like Bale and Ramsey. I guess they'll need to beat North Macedonia in their final group game to make it though to the playoffs in second place, but that's not a given. When your top striker is Kieffer Moore... you know you're in trouble.
I think Wales are (almost) guaranteed a play-off spot by virtue of having won our nations league group. The seeding in the draw is determined by results in the remaining qualifiers.

I agree on Keiffer Moore, would much rather have seen Broadhead start last night, and any other night.

As for the heady days….it was an Euros semi final against a poor Portugal side, that we would have probably won, but for yellow card suspensions for Ramsey and Ben Davies.

I genuinely thought this group would be more difficult than this

Fair play to them

Serbia, Albania and Latvia not easy places to go on paper

….not for the first time, it looks like England have a decent crop of players whilst many of the other major nations are not at their best, but it’s ultimately down to tournament football as opposed to qualifying.

To think talent like Bellingham, Grealish, Foden and Wharton aren’t even in the squad. Still think some of these will be in the WC squad. Retention of the ball in that heat will be paramount next year. It’s all well having a high press in the cool conditions of Northern Europe in October, but it’s not plausible next June/July in The States.
