2025/26 David Moyes

The sky 6 has always been about revenue and both Newcastle and Villa can't spend like any of those teams can, they are restricted just like the rest of the league are as that drawbridge has long been pulled up and it won't change until someone finds a way to unseat Masters imo. For me its still the RS, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, and Man U, just as clubs they are much bigger than the rest of the league. You always use the recruitment argument to defend Moyes yet Villa and Newcastle can't compete in the market against the other 6, the geordies summer window was an absolute joke for the most part, and Villa have hardly started the season well, it suggests that really they are not that big in the grand scheme of things. It's a bit mad really when you think about it as Newcastle's owners could probably buy the entire top 6 and still have plenty of spare change.
We’ve beaten Spurs and City away from home on numerous occasions under Moyes.

Sorry I made the assumption that you weren't a complete penis. I should have known better.
No it's a valid - and actually extremely pertinent - point. I don't have enough information to answer whether you'd be better doing it left handed and I don't have any enough information to know whether we'd be better taking a different approach away at the top clubs. You'll note that I never said a different approach would yield better results, only that I wouldn't mind seeing one. If your ham fisted attempt at an analogy was supposed to suggest that playing KITAP1 is the equivalent to playing darts with your dominant hand and doing absolutely anything other than that is equivalent to playing darts with your weaker one then it's just based on an entirely false premise because we don't know whether a different approach would see better results.

And yet Moyes has access to all available data and decides his approach is best. The fact a game is lost doesn’t mean the tactics and team selection were wrong.

And again, I never suggested it was. I said I wouldn't mind seeing a different approach because the one he usually uses has seen him win 1 game out of 70 at Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. Maybe the new approach would make no difference, I just wouldn't mind finding out.

you know which 6 i mean 😏
it is pretty obvious to most Evertonians the grounds where Moyes always comes unstuck at, we have played at one already this season and will play at another on sat, off the top of my head not sure when we play United Arsenal and Chelsea away but again we wont come away with much maybe the odd point here and there.

its a mentality thing that he has to overcome

Yeah - it was always the Sky 4 grounds back in the day. But they were so strong. He had decent records at Spurs and City.

I never suggested you suggested it. You have a really boring abrasive way of conversing you know? Like an 8 year old. Maybe a different approach would yield even less points and more goals against. Do you think Moyes deliberately sets out to lose games? He does what he thinks is best for each fixture. He is ultimately the one who picks up the pieces if we get hammered because we are too open.

Virtually every team in the league will suffer a similar fate. The big teams don't generally drop many points at home.

Agree with this. Plus, although my maths skills start to struggle badly beyond 2+2, I imagine that statistically all teams have bogy counterparts where they always seem to struggle. Whether this is blind chance or some consequence of styles, I don't know, but results, even over a bit of time, tend to exhibit peaks and troughs.
