2025/26 Seamus Coleman

Really this match shows Seamus still has a role to play this season, on the pitch.
If Moyes is wanting to sit on a lead, ie sit back a little more overall, Seamus is your man. Very good, better than younger Seamus, at absorbing pressure, with the ball, directing, and with others, working the release. Fine nous.
You could see Jake enjoying, relishing playing alongside him, having someone to trust by his right, and to play his way.
Moyes should use opportunities to bring Jake inside when Seamus is on. With Ndaiye and Garner to work with there are definitely times this season to use them. A counter play for one.

His problem is getting fit enough to get onto the pitch the last few seasons.

The Grim man saying after that he could've played on but was thinking ahead to Tuesday
If he plays on Tuesday, that will be him unfortunately for the next few months...it would be crazy to ask him to play a few days later having barely played in the last few months...again putting ireland ahead of everton.

As people, I don't have a problem with folks really wanting to play for their country. Cahill put in a crapload of air miles playing for his when it would've been easier to stay in the UK so fair play.
Definitely not, for all he knows Tuesday could end being his last international game.

The next game is the most important game, especially at his age..

My response was at what looked like a slant on the man's character..

Why wouldnt you play? it's his last chance at a WC and they're better for him being in the team.
And its better for Everton, him getting game time. Having your bench playing international football is a win win.
