It was chocker in the railway end embankment.Going to Burnden Park in 1977 and seeing us at last get to a final. Never simple with us though as Duncan McKenzie missed his penalty. A great atmosphere in an old, definitely old, fashioned stadium, which have long gone now.
Loads of fans on the floodlight pylons. Great atmosphere. Then remember the queues for the league Cup Final tickets when the queuing started at an Ungodly hourIt was chocker in the railway end embankment.
I thought that was dirty Leeds when they started wearing those tag things in the fold of there socks. I may be wrong as it was such a long time agoNot sure if it was in the 70's or later but for a few years each time Arsenal ran out at Goodison they would line up in the centre circle & wave to the crowd & they got applauded too!
It was a nice touch somehow, as we acknowledged that they had a great side.
I queued for nine hours. I bunked off school to get the final tickets. When I went into school the next day, the teacher was curious to know why I was off. I had a note from my mother explaining my absence.Loads of fans on the floodlight pylons. Great atmosphere.
