Well I haven't read the topic all the way through or with any depth but the gist from what I can tell is she should have a scouse accent and not a 'horrible' Wigan one. Or am I mistaken? If so I apologise
No, I’ve simply said I’d rather a presenter for Everton FC didn’t have a repulsive wool accent.

I’m sure she’s a proper Evertonian and loves the club, I just don’t want to hear her front and centre when she’s a bad wool.

Well that kinda sounds like I got the gist right. I'm not sure why you should care really though but hey ho each to their own

i don’t get that there have been multiple threads on here in the last week about her.

How many threads have there been about any other match announcer we have ever had or any local journalist?

Screams to me as a few who think football should be for men and women can’t have any say or involvement.

If we are the people’s club that should include everyone no matter the gender, race, religion, orientation or any other label someone might want to use these days.

Perhaps if we worried less about these things and more about supporting the team, the ground wouldn’t be silent for large parts of the match…
No - let me be clear, I don’t care about her gender, it’s the confusing nature of her connection to the club, she speaks with authority on some weird stuff when she’s not employed by the club.

That was my question. Has she taken then role over from Prentice, maybe? Or as Danny says she’s just the official Reporter of preferred news for the club.

With her being paid by Everton for a few roles (pitch side announcer, fan plaza host et al.) it's only natural to have some familiarity with the club.

Consciously or subconsciously, there will also be some jading of the boundaries between her journalist role and face of Everton.

Are we surprised if they're using her to angle some of the press-releases and what not? I ain't.

If you have a look she posted a lot of wrong stuff this summer. Particularly Dibling.

If you see her as what Joyce is for Liverpool as she is for us, I can definitely see how why you had the esk as a mod on here for a while.
She was actually right saying we walked away from the deal when others carried on saying we didnt. It was proved in the report when we signed him saying we walked away till The saints came back themselves with the deal

You can’t get more authentic than Halps. She lives and breathes Everton, especially the women’s side.

She may be from Stoke (I think) , but she’s always been about Everton.

It’s better having someone who genuinely loves the club representing us than someone who fits in with the voice/look of things. City have got a number of Manc accented presenters in her role, and they still feel inauthentic because they don’t have the same passion or personality
Try Ronnie Goodlass and about 30 seconds of that you would appreciate absolutely anything else.

I think that’s what prompted my question. Whereas the line between straight up journalism ie “getting the inside scoop” etc.
