Last Film You Watched

or to do a favour for his son
Yes… Anemone, which he let his son direct, and it’s been described as a ‘bleak and painfully serious misfire’. 😂

Meanwhile, Martin Scorsese had to literally get down on his hands and knees and beg him to play the lead in Gangs of New York.

The things you do for family, hey?!

First one - Iconic Sc-fi and a standout film.

Second one - not as good but still very watchable.

Some critics are calling Ares, one of the worst Sc-fi films of all time. ( but I`m still going to watch it )

Jared Leto in particular is getting a real hammering for his role.

I feel like this will happen before people even watch the film. The guy can't seem to catch a break - isn't even a bad actor, just usually picks bad roles. Was outstanding in Dallas Buyers Club, The Little Things, and I personally liked his Blade Runner performance.

I thought he was the one bad thing in Blade Runner, but I agree on the others.

Won the Oscar for best supporting actor in Dallas Buyers Club, believe it or not.

Brilliant performance for sure, but Oscar worth… That’s debatable.

My best guess is that all the other nominees that year were marginally more rubbish. 🤷

Wasn't even a part that needed playing, Batty showed skin jobs would be better at refining skin jobs, that was the portal opened with the original.
Leto would benefit from not being in a douchy butt-rock band. Requiem, American Psycho and Fight Club were fine steps for an acting career, (never watched 'my so called life') but there's been a few nic coppolaesque stinkers in there, (Lord of war wasn't actually terrible) suicide squad, panic room, alexander, morbius (real trash!). Sometimes less is more.

So John Hurt cops a hugger to the face that incapacitates him, Dallas and Lambert jump into an ocean of eggs to drag his stupid arse out of the spaceship, yet nothing else wakes up?

The Haunted Palace (1963)
Now that's what I'm talking about. Gothic horror of the highest order featuring Lon Chaney Jr. and the man himself Vincent Price. It's been a while since I saw one of these, and man did it feel good. 8/10

All academy award winning actors…
He’s got a long way to go to fill those shows.

He was nominated for best actor in Jerry Maguire, I think… But had to watch Cuba Gooding Jr win it for best supporting actor?

Oh, and he had to watch Jack Nicholson deliver an acting performance with real gravitas across from him in A Few Good Men!

He hasn’t taken a serious role like those 2 in a good couple of decades, so I guess we’ll see. 🤷
He was superb in The Last Samurai.

I’m guessing this is a joke but I do think Tom Cruise gets quite harsh treatment. Born of the Fourth of July, Magnolia, Jerry Maguire, Cocktail, A Few Good Men, Collateral, Magnolia. Even in a lot of his action films he’s a far better actor than pretty much anyone trying to do the same.

When you’ve been around as long as he has there are obviously going to be some duds.

No, not a joke. One of my favourite movies. He actually plays someone who isn't Tom Cruise for once. Very self deprecating and humble role.

It actually was a decent film.
Cruise was better than his usual average acting performance, I guess.
But the Japanese actor who played the Samurai Lord, Ken Watanabe, he took all the plaudits, IMO.
He was outstanding in that film.
