January Transfer Window 2026

Am seriously wondering if it isn’t a deal to get Grealish “Cheaper”.
City reduce the price of Grealish (which is probably a bit high to start with) by the cost of Phillip’s remaining wages and get both of them off the payroll and out?

Essentially we end up paying City what would have been the full estimation of Grealish (the already agreed option), but get Phillips for free.
I’ve seen stranger things in football tbh

Simple soution on the Grealish front - with the caveat that his form continues - is that City agree to extend his loan for another year on the current terms. At the end of that he is 31 , too ld for England recognition and likely headed for a few years gracing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia before retiring to charity work.
Phillips, although Moyes did rate him and lazy journo's will persist, is just a flat NO!

I doubt city loan him in his last year, especially if he has a great year with us, plenty of teams would happily pay 25mil

I'd be surprised if jack doesn't want to stay with us which will help negotiations I think. Only a guess like..
The big question will be his motivation post world cup, especially if he misses out like expected. Does he choose playing time or think, "sod it" and rack up as much cash as he can in his last few years. If he wants to enjoy playing every week we're his best option.

I highly doubt Moyes would be interested in signing Kelvin Phillips especially after bringing him on loan at West ham (at the time he was still somewhat relevant) which was disastrous, he only started 3 games out of 8 , in two of the games his actions lead to a penalty kick for the opposition and then kicked a piss directly to the other team which resulted in a goal. I doubt Moyes would opt to sign him on a permanent two years later after his woeful display. Also the source of the rumor is very unreliable, one of those clickbait sites.
