ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

My mistake, you're absolutely right!

- Signed, ChatGPT, probably.

"It was all about what we could do together to achieve something special and build a club and build the league," he says of his conversation with Al Ettifaq head coach Steven Gerrard. Forced to leave Liverpool, there was simply nothing else in Europe to

Surely the captain of captains wouldn’t lie ?

Wait a minute, hes said in the article "
"But at the time that's how I felt and the decision I made was for many different reasons and only I know them reasons."

So which is it. Honestly he could win very many hearts by being honest. Unless it was to get some porta potty insights, i can't imagine how much wealth modern footballers have clawed into their generational futures by playing in footy today, lets argue for sake hes worth £20m and he spent 6 months on the supposed to have left without earning a penny?

Sources close to the player? the source is Hendo.

Ahhh.. here we go. Surely not, Hendo?

The key reason for the deferral is not entirely clear, but Telegraph Sport understands that it was in part so that he could return to Britain to play for England in the short term, unrestricted by the time limitations placed on those without UK taxpayer status.

I've read this more than once and struggle to understand his excuse, why doesn't he just admit it was more money? He's supported minorities openly, a very difficult thing to do in that sport, and just come out and say "yeah, i was badly advised - the money was eye watering, i made a stupid move i was adored at Liverpool, i've learned a difficult lesson".

Instead of tip toeing around it and blaming others? I honestly don't mind him, hes a bit of a try hard weapon on the pitch and tries to be a leader, i can't take that part of him seriously, but being an advocate for minorities in sport is very brave, i don't think its lip service either, i think hes trying.
I've always been against people mixing sports and politics, because these beliefs are rarely genuine from celebrities. Celtic and Rangers are a mess on and off the pitch, yet both sets of fans are more interested in politics than changing Scottish game for better. Henderson was probably forced to get involved in things he didn't care about, then when money was offered he abandoned his principles. Lots of people who oppose domestic violence still listen to Chris Brown who beat up Rihanna. Considering how few openly gay players there are, it would suggest players aren't that tolerant behind closed doors. Liverpool were quite happy to tolerate racism, simply because their best player was accused of it. Had it been a lesser player, they wouldn't of made a big deal of defending him. As Evra rightly challenged Carragher of RS players conduct at that time. Suarez admiitrd to using racist language yet players still defended him. It's like when Salah got into trouble for taking picture with Chechen leader, what was he supposed to do? Tell a warlord to eff off. Plenty of major companies celebrate pride month in west, yet don't advocate for gay rights in middle East. Morality is about what you do when nobody is looking. Henderson adopted principles that benefited him while at RS, yet forgot them when he went to Saudi. I'm sure there were RS players who didn't like Suarez, but we're told to wear T Shirt by Dagleish. Dagleish has been given a pass, for his behaviour, which shows RS have no actual principles. Henderson never stood up to Suarez then, why would he have a backbone now?

Sports and politics only mix when it’s convenient, most players and clubs preach principles until money or status is on the line.

💙 all of this and that one sentence in particular

Yeah agreed.
He’s a voice for those that need it sometimes.
If he’d have said he went for the money to look after his family, extended family, grandkid's and all the rest of it I doubt he’d have have to explain himself now.

Is anyone else up for putting this lot in a league of their own and tell them they are special, just them. No relegation , no games , they get the trophy every year.
Their fans can have their podcasts and watchalongs live as normal and they can chat endless crap about how it means more.
Truthfully they won't notice or care its just an echo chamber because it is becoming a bit like it now. They cant even hear themselves.
The only condition is they take their journalists and ex player pundits and commentators aswell.
I know it may seem cruel but it lets them go off to a secure place to ramble on to themselves in peace.
We just all ignore them and get on with playing football in the real world.
