2025/26 Jack Grealish

If he had a Baines/Digne playing with him we’d be really, really dangerous down the left. As it is, he’s a top player and a massive upgrade but we’re not getting the best out of him. Would be way more difficult to nullify with a good partner.

Don't think it's so much about a partner as another threat, no matter what position. Personally, I'd like to see it on the other side of the pitch to open things up. I want opposition defenders to have sore necks on the way home from playing us from having to monitor back and forth too much.

I thought overall he struggled yesterday. Obvious already that teams are doubling up on him while our left back is allowed to see plenty of the ball.

So a two yard pass twenty yards from goal with a few defenders in between Garner and the goal is an assist—- not to me mate ! I don’t think it’s any type of science!
So you don’t agree with the Opta definition of an assist?

Opta, a British sports analytics company and the official provider of Premier League statistics,[5][6] defines an assist as "The final touch from a teammate, which leads to the recipient of the ball scoring a goal"

If not how would you define an assist? You seem to be suggesting that pass length and distance from goal are metrics that should also be included?

Well tell me who made him player of the month!

The Premier League Player of the Month is an association football award that recognises the best adjudged Premier League player each month of the season. The winner is chosen by a combination of an online public vote, which contributes to 10% of the final tally, a panel of experts, and the captain of each Premier League club.[
