Honestly I'm not hearing that. Im glad he's our manager, but him not addressing RB and LB in the summer is why we look like this. Both have needed addressing for literally years. He bought mercurial wingers only to isolate them with no options for overlaps.

We play like we're terrified of giving the ball away, so we don't play through the lines or play it into the likes of N'Diaye or Dibling when they find a pocket of space. Palace do the exact opposite and fire it into Sarr/Pino because they trust them to take a touch and pick a pass. Playing this way actually makes us more likely to give the ball away in dangerous positions.
