2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

Do you think he’s anywhere near being a starter or bench option for us?
Hard to tell m8, thats the first start he's had, and from what ive seen from him there, he's looked decent but to me he's still trying to find his place in the team.

With us he was alot more involved. If he can get a proper run of starts then I'm sure will see more, but I'm not gonna lie and say he's been ripping it up..

Does look composed tho..

Great to see him do his first 90 minutes today. In case anyone didn’t see the Preston captain’s comments after Harrison’s first start for them in midweek-

“Yeah, he's going to be a proper player,” Whiteman told the Post. “He’s got that athleticism, he's got the passing range and he's got a proper football head on him as well. The fans should be definitely excited, especially Everton fans as well - they've got a proper player on their hands. His knowledge of the game is excellent. Even his understanding on the pitch. I think, when you are that age, maybe you can't really see it in terms of when you're watching the game. But his football brain is definitely right up there, especially at the age that he is now. He's only 18... even watching his maturity on the ball as well, his decision-making, he's going to be a proper, proper player.”

Watched the first half, stands out a mile on his composure on the ball, makes space, knows his next pass before receiving the ball, and nothing fazes him.

The only problem is the way preston play, they play very quick paced, straight to the wings looking for ball in the centre, so it really doesn't play to his strengths, players just aren't on his wavelength..

He's a lad that you need to get on the ball and let him dictate the game, from what ive seen of them this season I cant see it changing.

Even the getting more starts now, he really could of done being at a team with a different set up/gameplan that suits his game..

Here’s the average position map for the game - he’s the number 5 here

Did Thierry Small look worth buying back? Weirdly seems that he played as right wing back rather than left?

I've watched the game he is one of their better players.
I watched it too, thought he was ok. One of the problems is the wing backs just crossed the ball into the box at every opportunity, Harrison was playing left side of Centre midfield , so was linking With wing back a lot and his movement was good getting into some good positions edge of the box, but the wing back would just cross it. Same with small on the other side. Harrison also made some intelligent runs forward. But didn’t get found. The fact the Preston mananger made 4 subs and kept him on, he obviously thought he was ok.
