He’s been here for a big majority of the last 20+ years so is as culpable as the rest.
Safe pair of hands for the first transitional period under the new ownership, but he’s not the answer to take us to the next level. I think we all know that.

Well, it's all about opinions. To some people a coward is someone who makes difficult real world decisions while trying to keep owners, fans and players happy, while to others its a person who calls people names from the safety of the internet.

He was a safety first manager when he was 40, so it's unlikely he'll be gung ho at 60. Steady hand on the tiller until we have a better squad, then get Iraola in and let's get back to the front foot footy we all want to see from Everton.

He certainly didn't bother at all with the trying to keep fans happy part in the predictably Moyes-like whimpering league cup exit. Usual exit by 4th round. Utterly uninspiring. I wouldn't say he is a coward for it, just self-serving

TBF, it was @MACCA75 who first mentioned him and then I agreed with that assessment.

Not sure how us mentioning Iraola 8 months ago counts as "hindsight". Maybe you can rationalise that for me?

I don’t think we can leap to a complete purist like Potter, but we need a halfway sort of manager, entertaining but pragmatic like Frank or Iraola.
Hard to imagine either leaving their current clubs for us now, but I’d be targeting either of those long term.
