That's terrible, my thoughts re 'the police' are well known now, but I'm sure no intent was in place here and it was a tragic accident when dealing with a knife wielding fake bomb wearing maniac. "hit by police gunfire" doesn't mean the victim hadn't already been attacked, further, bullets bounce and ricochet, again, accidental.

If he'd have gotten inside the synagogue the attacker would have no doubt done a lot of damage.

Tragic that 2 innocent people died but fair play to them for helping keeping the door closed on him. Some comfort for their families I'm sure.

I know they're nutters so its impossible for them to do this but I wish the world would make the pointed difference between zionism and everyday Jewish people.

Hard to do so with the Israeli state weaponising that conflation.

Very sad news overall and just seems terribly pointless and counter productive given what seems to be progress on many nations position in the conflict. Easy for me to be patient of course with no connection to Gaza beyond being appalled by events from a distance

Talking hypothetically, it could be a balance of ensuring there’s a round that will penetrate body armour and makeshift defences…

… and not having a round that is overly powerful and can pass through an object/person.

I know of someone in NI who hit someone with an SLR round, it was went straight through them, through a brick wall and hit a woman behind. A tragic, tragic accident.

7.62mm will make a small entry wound. But due to its velocity and kinetic energy will exit a human body sucking out entire organs leaving a gaping exit wound.
