It's worrying that Moyes seeing training sessions as well as the Prem games and still makes the decisions that he does.

I was just typing something similar, but your post pretty much covers it. On the grandscale of fees that we've paid for duds, this transfer doesn't really touch the sides.... But it appears to be another absolute shocker of a signing.

Joey-just think about what you wrote. Not subbing in Patterson at his natural position, for a 6'6" center back that has clearly beaten him for that position.

But actually playing him out of position to offer defensive support, which is what he has struggled with his entire career.

I guess we needed another name on the team sheet, but he should have been given a one way ticket on a random plane at the deadline.

He is a natural right back - imagine if we would have had Grealish v a wrong footed full back ?
No Thier Manager put 2 men on him - DM should have got the message early on when O'Brien not a right back was constantly being skinned - that goal was coming every blues fan could see that apart from DM !

Imagine the scenes if he'd been loaned anywhere, Tarkowski needed surgery on his hamstring, and Keane got injured or suspended, (or Branthwaite was out like he is) and suddenly O'B can't play RB, and Coleman can't play consecutive games. We've already had Garner play RB LB and CM, "we've had to throw Aznou in when he's not ready, he's been here a month and was injured 90% of that!", "we've a midfield of Gana, Alcaraz and D-Hall, Hall is tallest at 5'9" (no way am I believing Alcaraz is 6 foot!) and we're getting steam rollered by the rugby league pack leeds* have out there kicking us all over the show".

If Beto or Barry were more Ashley Barnes and could bruise up the CB's and DM's then some of the physicality of the game could be focused on the fight there, but they are both made from feathers. So we've a battle in the middle, and would you believe that our player carrying said battle has somehow earned 5 yellow cards and is suspended now. Another 5 yellow cards and it's a two game ban. What comes after that? Pertinent to Patterson? Garner can't cover two places in midfield and RB at the same time in the same game. Some people were selling him this summer

Patterson out with the other 18 means 19 out and 9 in, net loss of 10 to the squad. Use them subs Moyes! We don't have a bench full of keepers and under 17's anymore...
