2025/26 Beto

Beto isn't the worst of it - the fact that we bought Barry to replace/alternate alongside him is the problem. Neither of them, right now, are anywhere near PL quality. Barry might eventually be, though personally I can't see it, but Beto sadly never will be.

However, Beto was a known quantity - the minimum requirement in the transfer window was a player who was superior to him. Instead we bought Barry.
Barry has hardly had any minutes, he got 11 goals and 4 assists in La liga, that’s a very strong league we’re not taking about the Bulgarian league or something on that level. Beto is done at Everton he will be gone in January if we can get a buyer, may as well give Barry 15 games

He offered nothing last night which is understandable when we don't play to his strengths. If you want to play with a target man then buy a target man because Beto is not a target man.

He has one strength, relatively, and that's it. And it's to the detriment of the team (the three behind him don't want to be kicking balls aimlessly into space).

The one time he was played in, Max freaking Kilman bullied him and he did a Cruyff turn out for a goal kick.

I totally agree, unfortunately we have Beto as one of our two strikers who has one strength. To use him to hold the ball up, which he can't is ridiculous.

I think it's easier to just say if he's not scoring goals, he's useless. We can't have such a one-dimensional player in the squad, other options will need to be developed until other options can be acquired.
