Awful. Stand or sit in silence unless its to slate or moan at one of our own players. The negativity towards Beto is sly imo, after every duel or he doesn't win a header even when the ball has been smashed over his head or is 20 yards away from him yet they groan still.

Also on the South Stand I think alot have gone in there to say oh I'm in the south stand me lad yet won't help create any sort of atmosphere at all.

The former England and Man Utd goalkeeper, Ben Foster, recently said the following:

"If you can get on top of Everton early doors, the Everton fans are horrible to their own players. They are horrible, they get right on top of them. For sure they get in their players’ heads, for sure.”

There is some truth in that, sadly. And it really only helps the opposition. Our fans are also incredibly loyal, though. Remember the RS getting around 30,000 fans in the league under Benitez before they won the CL?

I tend to agree.

The last time I remember us truly being the twelfth man was against Palace under Frank.

Empty seats dotted all over the ground tonight, the stay at home season ticket holders definitely detracted from the atmosphere and you have to wonder if that could have been the difference between a win or a draw.

A good pal of mine who lives in our fair city (Sheff Wednesday supporter) was once asked 'who's worse to share a city with? Liverpool or Everton fans?'. Without taking a beat he responded 'You're both as bad as each other.'

Food for thought.
I'm by no means happy with the fanbase as things stand but until we start collectively murdering opposition fans and destroying entirere areas on an away day then I'm gonna strongly disagree with your mate.

I don't understand why some fans bother. Maybe its just that going the match is a habit that they can't kick but some of them really do need to stop going the game. What is the point? The vast majority of our fans spend the entire game in dead silence. Nothing, not a squeak. Then another chunk verbally abuse everyone from the opposition to the refs to our own players, the lot. I'd be very surprised if one in one hundred bothered singing or tried to create an atmosphere most weeks.

Want to change my vote….

Knew it would happen….little bit of optimism and the expectation from some nut jobs is almost real madrid levels.

Heads falling off over a home draw….everyone is rubbish now, and the ground is now a soulless bowl….sack the manager.

New option, the most pathetic wet wipe babies on the planet….and its not the young uns….its the actually fully grown men.

This. Utterly crazy.

Home fans getting outsung by away fans is pretty much the standard at every single match in the league, isn't it ? The hardcore fans will travel up and down the country to visit their team, get lashed etc whereas home fans for the most part are there for a nice evening out.

Anyway i don't understand why everyone is going mental, it's the premier league, its kin hard to win matches against any team. The idea we should be winning 'easy matches' like last night seems misguided, especially given we have been relegation fodder for like 3 years now.

You'd think people would have figured out several seasons ago that there are very few easy games in this league, in terms of how closely matched teams are the league is more competitive than ever before.
