First hour was competent without being amazing and should've been good enough to win the game.

Last half hour dismal and not much better than the general standard for much of the last four years.

This squad still has a long way to go really. Not enough goals in it and a big problem when Grealish and Ndiaye are on the fringes of the game. Dewsbury-Hall suspended for Palace not good either with what they have in midfield.

Also a concern how patience eroded from the stands as that second half went on. Big shiny new stadium means less patience from the stands with seconds halves like this.
It is an opportunity for alcaraz...he will be up for it...unless merlin recovers, but this is everton so probably unlikely to be fit for some time yet.

Let's face it: we are not getting any better until we have an actual striker in front.

Loved beto in the second half of the last season, but now it seems that he has confidence issues again, he can't do anything right and he's just not reliable enough to play in the prem.
We just need to scramble as many points as we can until january and then hope for a good transfer window.
We aren't even trying to play to his strengths. Play the ball on the floor in behind sometimes and he will get into it

Very, very ragged second half, the lad on the left for them was having a field day, poor from Moyes in the fact he didn't try to bottle that side up,still as against villa,we take something from the game, tough one coming up Sunday though.

Game was fine - they had a new manager bounce and had two strong wingers against our weakest areas. So bored of the manager complaint wagon. We’re playing our best football since 2014 probably….

I just tell myself that we knew this was a work in progress, we've a long way to go before we're even competitive.

There are always going to be stumbles along the way and at times it isn't going to be an easy watch.

Doesn't make it any easier to see us throw games away though

Just me that thought we played well then? Their goal was a sucker punch which gave them momentum and it was a smart tactic to double up on O’Brien. We still had more than enough to try and win it ourselves.

I’m not in panic mode just yet, especially when we’re 9th in the table and given where we were 6 games in last year

He isn't a back to the defender player, but that's how they're trying to use him still.
I assume that's about Barry but either way neither of our strikers (and I'm using that term very loosely) are back to the defender players. Beto is a physical lad but is still only of any use running in behind.
