2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

He is absolutely 100% a boo boy.

When he does something alright, never gets praise. As soon as its wrong the fans lose their heads.

I am not saying he will make it, but I think there's potential there. Tom Davies Man City goal aside, was a dore footballer... boss lad though.
If he’s playing for the first team I couldn’t care less if we originally signed him to be the tea boy, my expectations of him will be exactly the same as they are for any other player. Bizarre to suggest otherwise to be honest.

Everyone seems to not find a position for him.

I see a chance that he can learn a lot from Gana.

But it benefitted both clubs equally. I'm sure when the club came forward with the proposal, we probably spoke about Iroegbunam, and went from there, but I dont think we would have actively pursued him otherwise.

Work needs to be done on him, but I just don't think there should be any expectations on him.
No expectations?

He's a PL footballer ( apparently) who Moyes , rightly or wrongly , prefers at this moment in time to Armstrong.

Of course we are entitled to have expectations.

If I'm Iroegbunam, I am following Gana Gueye around in training and learning everything I can.

I think the criticism is harsh. Hes came here purely as an FFP loophole signing, with zero expectation and he must be close to 25 games for us now. Whereas Dobbin is currently on his third loan from Villa.

The lad for me, he's a lottery ticket who may come good and there are flashes of composure. He needs a loan, but I am not writing the lad off.

But, I think hes the "Boo Boy" of the moment. Still got hope for him yet.
He’s 22 he doesn’t need a loan
if he can’t cement his position in the team over the next 12 months then he never will, he will be sold on imo, he’s now down to 5th choice

I think with Tim he's unfortunately a sacrificial lamb in this situation. In an ideal world I don't think either him or Armstrong would be at the club right now and we would have another midfielder in. I think we see Armstrong having a better future than Tim at Everton and thus we have let Armstrong go to try and get regular football like he did with Derby, while Tim stays to be a bit part player for this season.

Fun Tim Stat from the Athletic- Everton have won just one of the eight league matches Tim Iroegbunam has started since he joined in summer 2024 — August’s 2-0 success against Brighton & Hove Albion. They have also conceded an average of nearly two goals with him in the side compared to 34 in the 35 games he did not start.

He's the antithesis of Doucoure.

Looked him up signed from Villa for an undisclosed fee?
Think we basically swapped one of Villa's academy nobodies for one of ours (Dobbin) for ~£9m in what was nothing more than a mutually beneficial PSR exercise. Only difference is, Villa weren't stupid enough to think they're getting a Prem player and shuffled him out asap, whereas we seem to be baffled why a raffle winner isn't a Premier League standard player.

Hence the undisclosed fee - he did play in Europe for Villa though - to me never a defensive ? midfielder

The midfield Michael Keane, without the resurgence.
