2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

Just dont really see a future for him here at all i have been wanting to give him a chance becuase looked promising when first come in. But cant really see anyway how he fits in the cm is an area we definately meed to improve on

I think he will be as has played in a higher level and has been trusted in several positions. Think tim biggest problem for me is what is he i feel his positioning is one of his biggest problems just goes missing in games
I agree, I thought he played very well against Brighton but he has dropped off that standard. He clearly has ability but there's just something going wrong in his application.

He's not a holding midfielder, he's not box to box and he's not an 11, which are the positions available in our midfield.

He's not good enough to adjust the system around him, so he needs to fit the system which he clearly doesn't.

Suspect he'll end up in the Championship excelling in a team playing 4-5-1 or 4-4-2

I'm not sure a loan is going to do much at this stage, he's been around first team football for years now and has already had a full season out on loan. By the time he came back from loan he'd be 23, he's not a teenager just taking his first steps in the game, he's at make or break point now. He showed hints of promise early on last season but at this point he just doesn't look like a Premier League player.
I generally agree. He needed to go out on loan when we first signed him. He's lost all momentum in his career.

22/23 - 2284 minutes for QPR
23/24 - 288 minutes for Villa (Senior Squad)
24/25 - 676 minutes for Everton
25/26 - 324 minutes for Everton

Over two seasons he played less than half the minutes he did for QPR and although he's been involved a fair bit for us this season so far it's basically been due to injury and now that we are out of the cup I expect his minutes to reduce even more so. Gana/Garner/KDH is our starting midfield at the moment and Merlin and Alcaraz should be ahead of him in the running order as a backup. I expect next season Armstrong to come back and take his spot.

It's a shame as he did show promise and has attributes to be a good player but he needed to be playing regular football which neither us or Villa have provided for him.

If I'm Iroegbunam, I am following Gana Gueye around in training and learning everything I can.

I think the criticism is harsh. Hes came here purely as an FFP loophole signing, with zero expectation and he must be close to 25 games for us now. Whereas Dobbin is currently on his third loan from Villa.

The lad for me, he's a lottery ticket who may come good and there are flashes of composure. He needs a loan, but I am not writing the lad off.

But, I think hes the "Boo Boy" of the moment. Still got hope for him yet.

I've never been convinced that he came 'purely' for FFP reasons. Always seemed far more likely that he was someone we were interested in and the opportunity was there to do a deal which benefited both clubs. I also don't think he's anything like Gana as a player to be honest, i'm not sure he's the player he should be looking to emulate.

He's not a boo boy, and I'm not doubting his effort, he's just not very good at football, which is a bit of a drawback for a Premier League footballer. Middle to bottom of the Championship is his level. He's a slightly worse Tom Davies.

Everyone seems to not find a position for him.

I see a chance that he can learn a lot from Gana.

But it benefitted both clubs equally. I'm sure when the club came forward with the proposal, we probably spoke about Iroegbunam, and went from there, but I dont think we would have actively pursued him otherwise.

Work needs to be done on him, but I just don't think there should be any expectations on him.

He's always struck me as a Bellingham type i.e a hybrid 8/10 which kind of floats around with good technical ability. Nothing like Gana.

He is absolutely 100% a boo boy.

When he does something alright, never gets praise. As soon as its wrong the fans lose their heads.

I am not saying he will make it, but I think there's potential there. Tom Davies Man City goal aside, was a dore footballer... boss lad though.

I refuse to believe there is not a decent footballer in there somewhere... but he lacks concentration and intensity. Fingers crossed for Rohl, Tim is still not ready.
