Okay, if you personally have a fear of us being in a relegation battle this season to the point you are fine with us putting the cups on a lower priority, then that’s fine. Your stance makes sense given your worry

I however don’t think there’s any chance at all of us getting relegated this season even with some injury issues, and would like us to win a cup, so again I would hope other fans can understand why I’m not happy with what seems clearly to be a weakened team. Especially given we have seen this a lot in the past, and have also seen it with this very same manager
Stop whining and grow a back bone. Watch the game and then criticise afterwards if we lose if it makes you happy.

I didn’t think there was a chance of relegation last year with the squad we had. I’m just pointing out how injuries could have a bigger impact on us if we risk players at this stage.

Both league and cup.

Imagine if we played the full strength team and the players who did need a rest all got injured. What happens in the next round? When we are more likely to be playing one of the European sides that got given an easier game this round? Then the players starting today, who haven’t started a game for 2 months are then needed.

Myko has been injured, KDH rested but replaced by a completely competent replacement, Beto may well have been dropped and it’s completely normal for sub keepers to play in the League Cup. The best teams don’t have a first 11 they continually rotate virtually the entire team. The Everton team is better than 90% of the teams we have fielded for the last 3 years.
You can make an argument for resting any individual player. It's harder to make an argument for 7. It's just not taking the competition seriously. He obviously doesn't care if we win this game. Obviously, he'd rather win it than not, but he won't be bothered if we lose tonight based on that selection.

They just don't care about getting the line up right.
