Today’s Football 25/26 Season

It's all a theatrical production mate. The PL is a nonsense. The refs are told what to do and they sometimes make it more obvious than others what they're told to do.

It's a cartel of clubs that stay together as long as there's some sharing of the spoils over a period of seasons.
I wouldn't argue with that, officiating changes depending on the badge, when the top brass cry that Leicester winning is bad for the "product" , but the scab 6 are still very poor the cult just play at a better more intensive pace to the others

The only ones who stopped them leaving were their own canny supporters who realised they'd lose their golden ticket to stay elite clubs. No other fans were kicking off trying to get them to stay.
Yup. Plenty of Chelsea, United, and Spurs fans realised that regular hidings at the hands of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid would soon relegate them to the current state of AC Milan...or Inter in last year's CL final.

Football needs to be clever. In a choreographed sport, learn from wrestling. If your great champion must lose, make it so that there are question marks over any defeat. Otherwise, avoid too many definitive confrontations and bob and weave your way to, perhaps, a rematch over the course of a year. Too many beatings quickly expose the "elite" to non-elite status. Look at United. They're not even in a super league and they are already in serious decline: a tainted brand.

If everyone is "elite", nobody is.

Look at Everton. We thought we were elite in 1992. We were. In the past.

And also the realisation that their clubs would be taken off them as they play home games in Saudi or America. Their connection would be gone at a rapid speed. Would have been great to witness.

United: I think if the scab league offer came up again their fans would offer no resistance. I dont think there's any quick fix for them and being involved in a European league could off them a port in a storm.

The most egregious thing of all was the closed shop nature of it. A side like Napoli - objectively one of the top 10 sides in Europe around now - would not be included. They would need a time-limited invitation while Ruben Amorim's clowns stank out the non-existent Super League relegation zone.

Matches in Saudi and the US and China...yup, that's the future, sadly. Serie A and La Liga are already pushing for it...Super League or not.

Can’t see it happening in the prem for some time due to the backlash. Those two leagues just begging for the extra income in hope of clinging onto the premier leagues coat tails.

Was this seriously your chant for him, while he was at you, Al?!

What a complete and utter lack of imagination!

I can think of at least a couple of words that rhyme with Eze: Play, today, way, say, pay, etc…

A pisspoor effort that, mate.
I see you have Poet Laureate in you dear fellow.
Eze’s chant at Palace was the ubiquitous “Your defence is terrified
Eze’s on fire etc

My avant garde billet doux this evening was merely a message to Lego Head to get him on the pitch.

Now is the Winter of our discontent,
Made utter bobbins by Tommy’s critque.

Bows, exit stage left.

Indeed Al…
You know me. My alluring endeavour into the whimsical world of prose and poetry as often been described as ‘reminiscent of a young William Wordsworth, with subtle nuance touches of John Keats, and a large enduring smack of Emily Dickinson right down the middle’. 😂🤪

But I see your point, mate.

Seems to me like guardiola is just seeing out his months left. 3 or 4 years ago when he knew his side would walk the league he was making little jokes with the interviewer. Now he looks like he is counting down the days to retirement.

Look at the team he had today compared to the team he had with kompany, silva and co. Not even close

The Premier League these days is like Serie A in the nineties. The most expensive players cancelling each other out and the occasional moment of brilliance which is then replayed over and over again to try and make you believe it was less boring than it actually was.
It’s a good watch if you want a Sunday afternoon snooze though!

The company that bought the tv rights to the prem in north America, whatever they're called paid 3 billion for them, there was a big story around the time that they were demanding a scab game to be played there as part of the package, citing the nfl games that are played in Europe.

It's coming, just a matter of time. I've already seen alot of American fans saying it's their League now on various platforms as most of the owners are from there.

The game we know is being taken away a piece at a time, and the fans of those clubs are so blindsided by massive transfer fees, international fanbases and big moves commercially that they will applaud it into existence
