I can see neither starting.

Beto looked as if he'd clocked out the last day, I know he didn't get much service but didn't looked bothered about getting into a better position. The only reason both Grealish and Barry shouldn't start is if they are not fit enough, same goes for Aznou sticking a midfield player in as a stop gap when we have a young lad in that position is just pure madness.

Sadly will have to miss this game due to treatment im currently undergoing, but did manage to sort my Grandson my ticket so at least I can share their joy of them both going the first game in hopefully a new era.

If we can win this I might start to get my Everton mojo back, cos at the moment its severely lacking.

Looks like Dibling is probably done and just the general crowd buzz around this game - which seems to be higher than for any BMD Stadium game so far. I'd have thought it'd have peaked against Roma, but it appears loads have been deferring their first game for today.

Oh, and I also just get the feeling we'll win handily.

If there's one thing to demand today, it's an up-and-at-them performance from Everton. Results are often in the lap of the Gods (AKA VAR), but there is no excuse today for the team not being right up and in their faces for this.

The team - and the manager - has its role to play in ensuring the crowd's excitement is maintained after Z-Cars and doesn't dissipate into quiet awe of the surroundings to the detriment of the match atmosphere.
