if we had any sort of right winger, even if they werent that great but competent and comfortable in that position like say Andros Townsend id say lets play the long game on this one and take it to deadline day
but we have no one who can play their, even Patterson who would provably be somewhat comfortable there is now injured. and moyes was always going to play charly or mcneil ahead of him anyhow
we desperately need to hit the ground running, we cannot let the good feeling and momentum of how we finished last season and with the new stadium fizzle out. some would argue it already has with the disappointing window and no win in pre season. wins at leeds and brighton would change that instantly
so id be thinking is there someone like mcatee or doak or some kid from ligue 1 who can come in and be easier to sign (though they would probably be just as difficult)
i imagine this could get done on deadline day, but if we havent won a game by that point its a real lost opportunity to herald the new era
