The atmosphere

That's my concern too. You'll still get the chants the whole ground sing along with but my favourite was at the back of the Gwladys Street when there'll just be that area singing, relentless, song after song and all the less obvious chants got sung.

I can't see that area at the front being suitable for that, you're in the open for the whole ground to see, no near roof to help reverberate that new song that only half a dozen know.

I know it's a small percentage who like to be involved in that, probably less than 1% of the crowd but I think it's needed when things aren't going well on the pitch
I think its one of those things that will take time to shake out. A lot of people who were in Lower Gwladys have moved out of the Lower South at Bramley Moore, as they had those tickets from when they were younger and now don't want to stand for the whole game anymore. On the flipside, theres probably loads of younger people who have grown up in the family enclosure, upper tiers etc who have jumped at the chance to move to the standing section specifically for the atmosphere. Its on them to help provide the atmosphere now. It will be interesting to see personally, as I'm going from the back of LG to the back of the Lower south stand.

Sadly, I missed out on a season ticket in the Lower South and will instead be sat in the Upper South with a view from above. I can only speak for myself, but I would have loved to have transferred my season ticket from the Lower Gwladys to the Lower South for next season and will probably be looking to move from the Upper to Lower South in the future, if all goes well.

Given how season ticket seating was determined at BMD, there will probably be a mixture of season ticket holders migrating from all parts of Goodison, which will make for some getting used to. In my eyes, however, everybody going to our new ground should be up for the occasion as we should be trying to generate as intimidating an atmosphere as we can.

Yeah it is on them to provide the atmosphere now. Quite often people go in wanting the atmosphere but not prepared to anything about it themselves. They just want to join in, but not help start it. When everyone does that then it's silence, after a chance or goal some fans will feel braver starting it. We then make excuses like, we only sing when there's something to sing, this then tells people to only sing when there's a chance and has a negative self fulfilling effect.

Other factors come into it though. If you're going to start a song, would you rather be at the back where no one can see you, or towards the front where everyone can see you? Would you rather be surrounded by fans who are the same minded as you, or just random fans? If some fans do join in if say its a lesser known song, would you rather be close to the roof so the song can sound louder and spread it to other parts quicker? Or would you rather be miles from a roof so there's no help from the roof?

Evertonians at home are some of the most insipid quietest entitled fans in any of the world’s top leagues. Let’s leave the passion and pretend ultra thing to other fans who are loads better than it and focus on what we are, angry miserable bastards who want to see opposition players hurt for our entertainment and away fans going home dead upset at being utterly snaked out of a result. EV-ER-TON.

Part of me is a little bit worried that the atmosphere will take take to settle at BMD. People have sat around the same people for years. Are people going to be a bit reserved sitting around new people they’ve never met?
