If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.
I saw 1 article today saying that a once off big punishment wouldn't be good enough that there should be smaller points deductions but given every year for a number of years, the reason given was they broke rules for 10 years so should have 100 points deducted but it would be 10 points a year for the 10 years.. Now that would be very very convenient.
