Transfer Rumour Thierno Barry

My concern with him, is £33m is lot for someone whos played 73 top flight games full stop.

Serial Goalscorer, which is positive.

We have money for a striker, but he remains very much in a "grey" area for me. That said, I thought Delap was grossly overpriced for a fella who has scored 12 goals. Moyes has a type he wants clearly. Providing hes not the second coming of Oumar, im happy.
£30m is good value for delap. It’s going rate for decent players with premier league experience

I am unconvinced but always happy to be surprised. After we let DCL and Doucoure go, was hoping for some more technical prowess instead of just physical freak. If he can’t finish from 6 yards out, I am dubious. We already have Beto for that role of ‘does everything well up until the finish’

‘Does everything well up until the finish’ is more the opposite of Beto tbh.

I’m confused, are you suggesting Beto can’t finish but does a lot of good work in the build up?

This is a good video to show how he has already developed in his young career, actually very promising I’d say.

If we buy this boy I’d say we’ll look to pick up some experience too..

A front 3 of Barry, Beto and a cheeky loan for Tammy Abraham would be a decent upgrade on our current options.

Good strikers but all a bit similar, we would need a different option if we go for a third striker i think. Don't ask me who like.

I’m suggesting that he is an absolute handful for defenders but is very liable to spoon a golden opportunity when it presents itself. I like Beto, I think with better players behind him (and not just on the left), he could be a fine option at ST. I don’t see the point of dropping so much money on someone who does the same thing but looks even less polished

Where this idea that he cant finish from 6 yards out come from?

From the clips ive seen he looks like he finishes well and his xg is 12 and he scored 11 in la liga. So hes not missing loads of chances according to the stats.

Never seen the lad kick a ball.

But looking at the nerd graphs, it seems were definitely, and wisely in my view, prioritising players who can progress the ball.

This chart looks like hes well suited (as with Ndiaye, Beto & Alcaraz) to a quick counter attacking team.

Exactly the strategy we should be implementing to compete with posession hungry sides.

Quite positive on this one and hope we can bring him in.

On what metric would a player who looks extremely obsolete after injury be a "decent upgrade" ?

Maybe because we literally have nobody else at all?

I think that’s just the market though mate, based on the reports about Barry’s cost and Delaps buy out it looks like we’ve budgeted about £30m for a striker give or take. I think in today’s market that’s either an unproven talent or somebody with a bit of quality on the tail end of their career maybe with question marks about their fitness. I think the position we’re in and have been id rather take the gamble on somebody who might have resale rather then getting stuck with somebody we can’t get off the books. We’ve learnt the hard way
