2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Yes, let's look at all the premier league goals he's managed to get out of the world class strikers he had at Burnley....

The man had Chris Wood scoring double figures four years in a row

Had Ashley Barnes scoring 9 and 12 premier goals a season.

Had Danny Ings scoring 11 in his first season in the premier league.

Even had Sam Vokes hit 10 for Burnley one season.

These are obviously all better strikers than DCL though right? Obviously they shouldn't have been sniffing close to double figures if Dom couldn't manage it under Dyche.

Oh wait.
He's not a very good manager for strikers mate. Wood has done a lot better post Dyche hasn't he?

Choose to believe what you want but any manager getting Ashley Barnes, Chris Wood, Danny Ings, and Sam Vokes near double figures in the premier league seems to know how to get even crap strikers scoring.

I believe the fault lies with the fella skying them and putting them wide.

I’m not blaming Dyche for DCL nor absolving the player of all blame but you haven’t got to have your coaching badges to see isolating a striker without nobody near him and launching the ball up in his direction is hardly conducive to creating chances for the striker nor great at building confidence .

As an aside it took Moyes about 40 mins to realise what beto’s strength’s were and play to them .

Please stay on topic in the DCL thread.

Rubbish isn’t he.
I'll rephrase it, just for you.

DCL was a handful against Wolves at home in a supposed pressure six pointer at the time ( in front of fans playing for Dyche ).

Forced errors for two own goals, won the free kick for Youngs goal and on a different day were VAR might have been interpreted differently, was involved, with a potential two other goals.

Whilst Cunha and Ait Nouri,
who recently went for significant fee's lost
4-0 and had minimal impact, were as DCL's efforts helped win three points.

It's definitely a bit of a blind spot for Moyes, he likes his strikers running channels and tracking back. He bought Andy Johnson and basically turned him into a winger. I think it's why he likes DCL too.

@JobForTheMoyes will be a long shortly to say I'm chatting wham and to educate me on how Moyes transformed Arnautovic and Antonio into R9 and R7.
To be fair, Antonio was at right back and Arnautovic was on left wing when Moyes started working with them. Did a good job developing Bowen as well.
