Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Regarding the Barry links, the problem for us is that with our budget, we really need to be finding these players before they're worth €40m.

If we need 8-10 players then we absolutely need to do that but at the same time it's obvious we cannot fill the squad with 10 £10m players and expect them all to be roaring successes. That would sound like another relegation battle ahead and something Burnley would try to do.

Certainly I think we'll have to sign 3 or 4 players of that price range or a little higher, sign perhaps 2 more expensive players and pad out the squad with loans and frees.

I don't envy them their task. That's a very difficult job they've got on.

It really is both fascinating and very difficult to see how they'll try to maximise the use of the available cash whilst getting the balance right between quality and quantity.

he doesn't, if we loan him out it confirms moyes is incapable of developing talented youngsters
How do you know he’s ready to start for a prem team? He’s had half a good season at Derby, but may need a full season playing for a team pushing for promotion, similar to what Coleman did for Blackpool all those years ago. He might also be ready, but we’ll only know that after a full pre-season.

Everton target James McAtee is the great-nephew of Alan Ball

Everton are interested in signing James McAtee after it became apparent he will leave Man City this summer.

Like Grealish, James McAtee has been left out of the Club World Cup squad, so he will be allowed to negotiate his exit over the coming weeks.

Moyes is believed to be a big admirer of the 22-year-old, and reports suggest it would take a £35m bid to reach an agreement with the Citizens.

Apparently, his mother Gill is the great man"s niece. Get him signed

I've seen a few peple saying he will have better offers. He might, he might not. The opportunity to stay in the Prem, play more games, and not have to move home might well be the best offer he could possibly get. Obviously, he could be eyeing a move to Saudi, I don't know him personally, but an offer from us could be very attractive to him.

Where the team is in the league is irrelevant, I never quite get why people get hung up on that with loans. The basic point is right though, his performances for Derby were promising but that doesn't necessarily mean he's ready to become a regular for us. Fingers crossed he is though.

Should we fail to sign additional CM's this summer - which is a strong possibility, then Armstrong and Iroegbunam would be the back up to Garner/Gana surely. Despite whats right for the player, with such a small squad we might be prudent to keep possible players here.

Is it? I’d say playing in a team scrapping for relegation is very different to one trying to play more fluid footy pushing for promotion.

I’d love for him to turn in in preseason and give Moyes no chance but to play him, but it seems unlikely.
