In my (and the overwhelming majority of scientists) opinion, climate change represents the most pressing existential threat to humanity, with the potential to fundamentally alter our planet's habitability within this century.
The scientific consensus is overwhelming: global temperatures are rising at an unprecedented rate due to human activities, leading to cascading effects that could trigger civilisation-wide collapse. Sea level rise threatens to displace hundreds of millions of people from coastal regions, whilst extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and severe, disrupting food systems and infrastructure globally. The feedback loops in our climate system mean that once certain tipping points are crossed, the process becomes irreversible, potentially leading to a "hothouse Earth" scenario where large portions of the planet become uninhabitable.
What makes climate change particularly insidious as an existential risk is its interconnectedness with other global threats and its ability to act as a "threat multiplier". Resource scarcity driven by changing precipitation patterns and crop failures can lead to mass migration, social unrest, and conflicts between nations. The collapse of ecosystems and biodiversity loss further undermines the natural systems we depend upon for survival. Unlike other existential risks that might occur suddenly, climate change is a slow-burning crisis that we're already experiencing, yet its gradual nature makes it easy to underestimate until the consequences become irreversible.

Agreed, mate. Social media has given everyone a voice, and apparently everyone has decided to use that voice to cash-on on their 15 minutes of fame.
SPECIFICALLY TikTok! Have you ever watched any videos on there?! After 5 minutes of scrolling through the 'suggested' one's, I promise you, it's enough to make you want to smash your phone against the wall! You can literally feel your IQ dropping the longer you stay on it.
I'm convinced the Chinese invented TikTok, and released it onto the western world, with the intention of making everyone stupider, thus making them ripe for intellectual dominance. It has to be.
Have you ever watched that movie 'Idiocracy' with Luke Wilson?
With each passing year, it's starting to look less like a comedy, and more like an actual documentary that's a scathing indictment on modern society.

I have never downloaded it, but I've seen some of the absolute crap on there, shown by other friends. Youtube is becoming the same now. Some absolute west heads on there. Honestly, it's not just the dolts. Our ingenuity can be wonderful, but we out it to such terrible use at times with horrible, sometimes intended, consequences.
