the way the quote has been clipped makes it sound so much worse than what he actually said here

Pickfords experience is his international experience. No other current English keeper has anything close to his World Cup, European Championship, Nations league experience. Hell he's the man who saved a penalty in a final against a guy who doesn't miss penalties. He has proven himself in an England shirt & is usually one of the best performing players during the tournaments.
It is the biggest of stages a player can get & Pickford always stands up.

Totally agree, this is also probably why Branthwaite is getting overlooked.

But he's not really said that at all. He said he would prefer it if they were playing in europe but they're not, and none of them are.

I'm not a fan of his but its not a deal breaker for him if you look at his other selections with Eze, Toney, Henderson and Gibbs White.
