The Chelsea thing is ridiculous but they are just bending rubbish rules. Once they sold the hotels to themselves it was up to the teams to implement new rules prohibiting selling assets to related companies but they didn’t. It wasn’t as if they weren’t aware of what Chelsea didThe Chelsea thing is an absolute scandal mate, Utd will always be a money making machine, i don't believe half of the Ratcliffe poor mouthing.
If you look at the Chelsea profile they admitted to breaching financial rules under the Abramovich reign, doing similar things that got Rangers demoted four divisions an investigation was launched - that similarly to City doesn't have any out come. No body talks about it
The selling of he woman's team is a scandal not only did it rescue them form a PSR breach, but its also reset their parameters to have one of the strongest PSR profiles in the league now.
The PL should hang their heads in shame, Uefa have already not accepted it and charged them with non compliance, while the PL are happy to let them away with it, to continue to cultivate an international TV audience, displaying "the stars" they bring in.
Its no coincidence either that these clubs are the ones who threatened the SL break away either. dont under estimate this as part of the reason in the double standrds applied in the PL now when it comes to overall sanction and PSR.
Rotten.
I’m surprised Newcastle and the Saudi’s have not yet done something similar to City and Chelsea. Pump money into the club through whatever dodgy means, and hopefully get themselves established among the elite. Then when the premier league come calling (after cryarsing from the usual suspects RS/Man Utd), get them tied up in legal challenges, like City have successfully done. The Chelsea thing is ridiculous but they are just bending rubbish rules. As corrupt as the league is, there was not much the Premier League could do as they would likely lose any legal challenge
We were the first to dodge the rules with the USM money to have an option to name the stadium for £30m was it. Be interesting to see how £30m compares to what we are getting paid by Hill Dicks
We need to abuse the rules while they are as they are. Sell the woman’s team and Goodison to a related company for £200m.

Reading so many posts from people on here who are just dismayed at the way football has gone in this country. It's a sad state of affairs alright, the English game is an absolute powerhouse, and in my opinion it needs proper government legislation, and I don't mean this so-called independent regulator. I'm talking proper protection under the national heritage act or something. We've never needed the lure of Champions League football to have a strong domestic competition, but the glory hunters and others who follow the so called big six are so obsessed with competing with the top European clubs that any mention of a levelling of the playing field, such as wage caps and whatnot are met with howls of 'well, we'll just lose all the best players to European teams?' Well, so what? Are the rest of us meant to care? Serie A used to get all the best players, the premier league was still a powerhouse.
I'd like to see this de facto super league kicked in to touch and/or domestic regulation that ensures all prem clubs recieve a portion of European tv revenue.
I'd like to see mandatory drug tests for all 25 squad players after every away game. Actually, reduce squad size to 23 whilst you're at it.
I'd like to see a spending cap of sorts. Wage caps are a legal nightmare, but strong governance could ensure that all clubs have to spend 20% of turnover on facilities and/or the immediate local community. This along with a cap on what agents can earn would ensure that the vast amounts of money that pours in doesn't just end up in the pockets of individuals, instead ensuring that the actual clubs themselves and the communities they're at the heart of are actually benefitting from the ever increasing amounts of cash that are thrown around.
I'd like to see refereees with a high IQ -preferrably doctors- paid £1 million+ per season to make decisions that can have massive finacial consequences. This system we have now where they all know each other from 14 and are planning for a job at the top on err, 70k per year (good money for your average joe but it's unlikely to attract the finest minds, especially seeing as they will only earn that if they actually make it to the prem.)
Bin the 5 sub rule, stop clubs being able to stockpile players, get proper refs and bin VAR. Ther could be finacial restrictions on squads, as in 75% of wages must be spent on 50% of the squad.
There's actually loads and loads of things that could be done and English football would still thrive, but nothing much will happen, we've already sleepwalked in to this crap version of VAR and a de facto super league.
Villa are the only 'at risk' team.I'm colourblind, and I can't see any difference between the 'at risk' and 'fine for 23/24'.
No difference at all, if there is one?
Burnley are the only team that have to make a profit to avoid PSR trouble. Funny how the teams that are under pressure are always at the foot of the table and the teams that have multiple offences are at the top, (City and Chelsea), and have not had anything done to them.Villa are the only 'at risk' team.
Us, Burnley, Leeds and Newcastle are all 'should be fine'.
It's what United were let away with doing is the annoying part, being allowed to write off standard business costs against PSR why were we not given such leniency. The Chelsea thing is an absolute scandal mate, Utd will always be a money making machine, i don't believe half of the Ratcliffe poor mouthing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, any team letting staff go to save money should be on a transfer ban, until they sort out their finances.I mean, United, by their own admission are only a going concern because they fired Jan and John from the kitchen, but they can spend whatever the hell they like on players after their worst season in decades. Make it make sense.

I think it's important to note, and many already understand this, that the numbers here only indicate what teams can/will do until 6/30/25.
New fiscal year for everyone on 7/1/25.
So we get a one time benefit in this years accounts and then what ? Recruit £200m of players which will increase our amortisation rate £40m pa for next say 5 years. We then have to make sure the club can generate sufficient income in subsequent years plus how do the Women's team/club repay the £200m if it renders them insolvent and illiquid ?The Chelsea thing is ridiculous but they are just bending rubbish rules.
