No we had him on trail at 15 or 16

Then had an opportunity when he was 17 I think before he went to red bull or whenever he went and started scoring hat tricks in the CL… 3m apparently

This is exactly why it was important we didn’t offer Doucoure £130k p/w and Keane £80k p/w again; any player getting a contract at Everton whether new or renewal would’ve pointed at those two as benchmarks and said, hang on, i’ll offer more than them. Think the club has done brilliantly this summer to bring it down. United on the other hand have to start at £200k p/w because they’ve thrown daft money at crap players with poor attitudes for years. Mbuemo is quality though and I wish he wasn’t going there.

Also on Barry from Villarreal, we’ve already shown we can throw £30m on a striker this summer by going for Delap so if we want him there’s a decent chance we’d get him. No idea if he’s any good or not like.
