Agh ok mate. I know some fittings are older, but surely they'd find a way to remove the whole seat?

Yeah the promo pictures for it show that it'll be packaged in some flat case so it looks that only the back of the wooden seats or the bottom of the plastic seats are being sent. It's a bummer but I'd imagine it'd be near impossible to ship without charging an arm and a leg.

Article on the BBC about the problems Real Madrid is having with the noise from concerts bothering residents and they’ve now ended up in court over it. Could well be a very shrewd move by us picking up the waterfront location for big events. Presumably there’d be similar issues if Anfield suddenly started putting on more and more concerts each year with the local residents (mind you there’ll hardly be any left after that lot have finished running them out of their homes)

It occurred to me because of the PSG tifo thing just. It'd be wicked if when we drop the house lights, we drop a full length banner from the roof with our message on it. Then it's there waiting for the house lights to come on after siren and Z-cars starts up.

You can't really call anything a "grand old lady".... until it is indeed old. It was always Grand in comparison to all of its contemporaries. The Oldness only becoming more apparent and pronounced as all around us modernised, or moved. So it was hardly a huge leap of descriptive authorship to christen it the Grand Old Lady.... a term of endearment often used to describe a building (or ship) of historical significance. No-one can deny that GP certainly satisfied the basic criteria.

Finally,,,,we all agree thaat BMD capacity isnt big enough and was a total design failure....it would of only took about 3 extra tiers on each side and ......HAPPY DAYS but now we are left with this massive problem...

Yes, point taken on that mate.

I must admit, the term has never ever registered with me.

Imo the volume of use of it has accelerated enormously in the run up to the move from Goodison and it was never anything other than a niche term up until then used by only a small number of posters.

Of course the broader point is that it all should be left behind now anyway.

We have a new stadium requiring a brand new indentity.

Stuff like this makes it harder to create a new identity, as befits a move to another venue.

There's a marketing team at this club and they should be all over this and offering a vision as to who we are as a club and what they see us standing for.

If stuff like this and 'The Grand Old Lady' ale house is anything to go by they dont have any vision whatsoever and are just happy to let any patchwork quilt dedicated to the past to emerge.

You can always rely on Everton FC to screw things up.

Name them after Everton legends.
