Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Thought he would go last year, he has had another good season, basically any side would want him and already seeing him linked with all kinds.

If liv want £50m for Quansah, we need to demand double that.

Selling him would leave only two CB’s at the club, so I hope we say no, but I think he goes this summer.

any side would, we don’t need to sell he doesn’t want to go and moyes won’t neither

I've said before I think this is something Moshiri didn't understand. When he first came in he was really bullish about us being able to afford anyone and said we'd bid £60m for Koulibaly etc, but it became clear later he had no idea how much you have to pay players in that bracket, especially when you're trying to convince them to come to a club like us. Being able to afford the initial fees are one thing but paying their wages is a totally different issue.

In general I don't think people really appreciate that wages really hammer you as well. Like I listen to a lot of people, many of them presenters on things like Talk sport who talk about "of course you can get 30m for Rashford" etc.

Yes you can, but when he's on 300k a week, the total package makes a big difference.

Our big problem under Moshiri wasn't just the fees, it was that we hiked wages, so couldn't sell them/move them on.

So yea, it was total stupidity of Moshiri. It all was. The idea he could do it how Chelsea/City did was nuts. I don't think anybody could do that. Even Newcastle, who theoretically have huge cash, can't do that.

For all the faults the likes of Kinnear/Moyes might have, I hope there will at least be a bit of realism now.
