Why do Evertonians hate their own players?

Absolutely. He is the complete opposite of Gana and one of the worst midfielder in the history of our club.
Lazy and coward.

Maupay for obvious reasons

Howard final season was quite toxic.

Nyarko

In recent years I’ve seen an alarming increase level of toxicity towards young developing players.
Kean, Gordon, Lookman, Patterson
I never liked the Nyarko thing, he played about 20 games in a pretty mad team (Smith had him and Gravesen playing as sweeper at points) for us before the big kick off with him.

These days he probably would have been given a little more leeway to "settle in".

This question is way too narrow IMO.

If ya wanna play psychoanalyst -
let’s not just pick on the most obviously maladaptive among us - why do you even give a flying one about the fortunes of a one professional sports team of thousands in the first place?

Perhaps Dr Azul can enlighten us.

At the ground we could play 11 blind people and I’d still fully support them

But if someone plays a diabolical pass or cross or misses an easy chance I’m still going to call it out and berate the player after the game
Wait, you suggesting we've not been doing this?

I've been a member of this fine website for over 15 years on and off, i have met a few of you but still find a few blues use this site to HATE the lads who try and win game for us. I have never understood this.

Anyone know why? The "Everton Darsss" shout coined by Azul was very accurate. I was in the Park End and heard literal boos for Dom and " He wearrrrs a skirrrrrt"

Whats this all about blues?
Saw a study in the Athletic, (can’t link cos of paywall) Basically 86% of everton fans surveyed subscribed to the Joe Rogan podcast and a whopping 92% said ‘Nige and Tommy speak a lot of sense’ completely unprompted when asked a question about players’ wages. More than double that of any other club.

We sorely lack patience as a fanbase simply because we've been let down too many times. We've been lied too, lied about, and basically taken for granted for years and years. I blame most of it on the old regime, and the hold-overs of the one that was in place before that.

The club was ran appallingly for a long time, and anyone who spoke out against it was cast as an idiot and/or troublemaker. The fanbase slowly woke up as a majority to this fact, but by then it felt too late really try to do anything. So instead the anger we feel gets taken out on the players, especially the ones we don't particulary rate.

Hopefully with the TFG it can be a new dawn.

I’m amazed not to have read Dyche’s name. The football in the first half of this season was the worst I have seen (and I go back to the 90s).

Players were making five-yard sideways passes and misplacing them. They were rightly booed for this. In hindsight, they were terrified that they would get shouted at or dropped for making a 10 yard forward pass.

A lot of it is about attitude. Fans want players with optimism and positivity. They like players like N’Diye because he has a go. None of us probably understands how technically brilliant you have to be just to look crap in this league, but if I were to it it in a sentence…

Fans want their players to try to win games; they get frustrated when they don’t think the players want the same.

Surely moaning on GOT about them playing crap rather than abusing them at the match, in the street, or seeking out their socials to send DMs is a better avenue to express frustration when they inevitably let us down.
